Aberdeen was supposed to be shutting down this month, and that is why we had moved a few months ago. There were a lot of problems there, and they didn't pass inspection.

Our Family's Experience
During our loved ones' stay we found the director and all of the day-to-day staff and nursing staff to be fantastic and always readably available if we had questions or concerns. They were always very helpful, friendly, and positive to everyone. You could tell they were concerned about our wishes. We liked that the community is all on one level and it's just the right size - not to big and not to small.

Community Tour
My tour at Aberdeen was great. The facility was very clean. The people were very nice. One thing I didn't like was that their memory care unit felt more like a restrictive, lockdown situation - which I think is common when a facility provides both assisted living and memory care like Aberdeen does. I know it’s for the residents' safety, but it could just be set up a little better. It was also way bigger than we were looking for, and cost more money. But the administrator that toured me was very nice, as were all the staff I encountered. The facility was well kept. I thought Aberdeen was on the mark.

Tour experience
We had a wonderful tour experience with Aberdeen Memory Care of Tulsa. This facility was actually our second choice - we really liked everything that we saw. For us the only reason we did not choose it was because of the location, another facility was closer to us and easy to get to and location really is everything in a situation like this.

Would recommend
I thought at first it was ok, but last week the Sagora Company came in and made some changes for the good. Now from what I've witnessed, things are so much better. I would recommend Aberdeen as a good memory care facility.

It just works for us
We feel very comfortable with the value at Aberdeen, for everything they offer we do not have to worry and it is a big relief for us knowing our loved one is well taken care of. We have no complaints so far. We have not eaten a meal there ourselves, but our loved one does not complain so we have to assume it is good. They do not take advantage of the activities but they have different things going on all day like an all week long.

I Feel Good About Placing My Loved One in A Community I Don't Have to Worry About Her
I would recommend Aberdeen Memory Care to others for their loved ones. It doesn't feel like a nursing home. It has a comfortable feel to it and looks good. The staff have been helpful with any questions or concerns I have had about my loved one. There is a scale of care that the community uses. The community is very attentive to my loved one and they handle medication management. My loved one seems to like the food here.

Perfect for what we were looking for
We chose Aberdeen Memory Care of Tulsa because of the speed of which we were able to get her in as well as the fact that the sales director called me right away. It was also the exact same building that my father had been in several years before so I figured it would be familiar to her. The staff were very accommodating and helpful from the get go and are very responsive. The room sizes here are adequate for her needs, she is in a double room by herself so plenty of space for her. I would absolutely recommend the community to others who are looking.

Great fit for dad
We have been very pleased with Aberdeen Memory Care. We chose this facility because I talked to the director and I really liked what she had to say about her staff and it seemed like it would be the best place. From what we did get to see, it was all very clean and nice. They came up with ways to see your loved ones during covid. They bought iPads so we could face-time when we couldn't see them in person. They have a 5 star chef so they really watch residents nutrition. Overall, they have been very accommodating during this whole pandemic. They also have a lot of activities for men AND women memory care. They also have a Facebook page so you are able to see activities your loved ones are participating in. I would recommend to others looking.

Highly recommend Aberdeen
We chose Aberdeen Memory Care because we found out that my mom had 1 business day to move my mom from rehab to a care facility. Aberdeen was the first one that called me back and they were very flexible and accommodating with meeting with us after business hours. They went above and beyond for us to help get her in here quickly. They have been very good to my mom and they had not had a single covid case until 6 weeks ago. They have really taken care of their residents and are working hard to keep them safe. I do feel that it is the best value for the money and I would recommend to others looking.

My review of Aberdeen Memory Care of Tulsa review
They were really fantastic over there and the community itself was extremely clean. Our loved one really enjoyed the people there, they were very warm, friendly and welcoming. They got the residents engaged in different activities like dance parties and different socials. Even after out loved ones passing, the staff was still very committed to our family, they were unbelievably kind and compassionate.

A good community, but they just dropped the ball when it came to our families decision on what hospital we wanted our loved to go to
They have a good set up when it comes to the food, and the rooms are a little on the smaller side but they were decent. Our only problem we had is when our loved one got sick, they took him to the wrong hospital. That hospital did not have any of his records and he ended up passing away two weeks alter.

I was in love with the Community Manager at Aberdeen. [name removed] has been doing this for years and it shows. Her compassion is evident. I would have no hesitation at all having our Dad cared for at Aberdeen. However at this time, Aberdeen is a Memory Care facility only, and after discussion with the rest of my family it was decided that Dad doesn't need solely Memory Care just yet. But trust me, A+++++ for this facility from what I have seen.

Not appropriate place for high functioning loved ones
My MIL is a high functioning loved one with dementia. If your loved one can still carry a conversation, engage in activities, take care of their basic personal needs, Aberdeen is NOT the right place for them. They assessed her as being appropriate for their facility but they were wrong. 90% or more of their population is late stage memory care issues. The lobby is continually full of late stage residents who have nothing to do. The promises for activities never materialized in the two months that she was there. No arts and crafts, no outings, ...nothing to give her purpose or interest. Her laundry wasn't done regularly. They had lots of staff turn over while she was there. Very expensive for minimal care.

Level of care for advanced dementia residents.
My wife has advanced dementia and often delusional. While Aberdeen offered memory care, the open door casual atmosphere was ideal for most of the residents but did not provide sufficient care for advanced dementia residents. During her residency, my wife fell 3 times and had to be transported to hospital emergency. Once for stitches in lip, once for broken hip, and once for broken arm and wrist. After each trauma experience, her mental condition declined. Which resulted in three trips for psych evaluation. These falls were not all the fault of Aberdeen, Oklahoma laws prohibit the use of any type of restraint in nursing homes. As to activities, my wife also has advanced macular degeneration, and nearly all activities were designed for those with sight.

Not for compassionate care
The nursing staff was friendly enough. However, when my great grandfather fell in his room in late March, he was moved to Southcrest where he had surgery and spent his final days until his death on [date removed]. They are seriously all about the money. Not even a simple “I’m sorry for you loss” from these people, but rather, you need to pay us for the ENITRE month of June plus this late fee. Oh, and for his podiatrist care in June 6th, um what? His toenails sure as hell weren’t clipped at the hospital the day before he died. If you want a compassionate place for your loved ones, this isn’t it. The kicker here is, we had his stuff cleared out the 1st or 2nd day of June and would have been happy to pay half, but you know, greed and what not. We simply can’t get over the fact that absolutely NO apology was issued when he fell or when his death occurred. Oh, and can we please get the details on his fall and when it actually occurred? Had he been lying there for hours? In the halls, you can frequently hear other residents screaming help me and it takes a long time for any help to arrive.
