It was not a priority for them. \nI don't think they were comfortable with me prioritizing hospice care.\n\nTo me it felt like the goal was not to lose a client. \n\nI believe the staff was not qualified for the skilled nursing needs.\n\nMy loved one ended up falling and had a hospital stay for a suburban hematoma. \n\n.She is now in a skilled nursing facility.\n\nMy disappointment came from the director of nursing at the Sheridan trying to find alternative ways to keep her there . \n\n\n It's a nice placement for assisted living services and mild dementia but not for advanced dementia patients \n\nI take responsibility for that...\n\nIn not realizing how fast my love one's situation would change so rapidly. We quickly found that the real gem of the Sheridan is the four star staff. \n\nI visited my dad often each week so I got a pretty good feel for the staff. Almost to a person they were friendly, calm and kind, giving the place a warm homey feel.\n\nMy dad felt the same way. He never had a bad word to say about the place or any staff member.\n\nIf you are thinking about a family member living in assisted living, you cannot do better than the Sheridan.
