A fun, homey, supportive place to live
My dad lives at Sandia Vista, and I spend a lot time visiting him there. I 100% recommend it. The whole place has a relaxed, positive, homey energy. Things seem well-run, and staff are competent, hard-working, supportive, and kind. There are lots of activities, outings, and special events

A fun, homey, supportive place to live
My dad lives at Sandia Vista, and I spend a lot time visiting him there. I 100% recommend it. The whole place has a relaxed, positive, homey energy. Things seem well-run, and staff are competent, hard-working, supportive, and kind. There are lots of activities, outings, and special events that make the place fun and help people connect. Hot food is available all day, so my dad can get good meals whenever he needs them. The chefs cook food from scratch - the fresh cookies and soups are great! Residents seem happy and engaged, and have been friendly and welcoming to my dad. The apartments are big and well-maintained and have full kitchens. The whole property is gated and fenced for security, and the grounds have lots of beautiful, mature trees. My dad has been much happier and healthier since he moved to Sandia Vista, and I feel like he’s in a very good place.

Unexpected move to Senior Community
The whole place is very friendly, neat and clean. The staff are exceptional. The other people are super friendly and there are quite a few activities. Once a week housekeeping includes washing bedding and towels and making your bed. It is almost like an eating club Three meals a day from 7-6. You can take your meals to your room . Two happy hours a week, ice cream social and more. There is a van and a bus for appointments and outside trips. Big TV for movie nights if you don't want to hide in your room. I moved here because I was able to move my brother here, but opposite side of building. He needs my help with scheduling and a few other things. It takes the stress off me as I know he can get to meals on his own. ??Pets are allowed. It's a bit above my budget but everything is included. I supplement meals with a few additions and fresh veggies.

It is really good, I hope I end up somewhere like that. [name removed] did a great job - he was the nicest on the phone, i had a very quick turnaround and he was honest and straightforward while others seemed pushy. The room sizes and amenities offered are good.

overall pleased
We chose Sandia Vista because they had a room available that met our parameters. the people living there said the food was good. the opportunities for outside of the facility activities seemed good. They have assisted living available as a separate contract with an on site company. I was not impressed with that service.

Sandia Vista Senior Living review
I can say that I loved Sandia Vista and my mom did as well. (I made as many friends there as she did.) It's a beautiful, bright space with lots of spaces for residents to meet, both inside and outside. Also, it is a safe place. My mom never felt uneasy. I also appreciated the restaurant dining, so that my mom could order what she needed. My mom was there for a year, until she got a brain injury that ended with her requiring more care than Sandia Vista, as an independent living place could provide. I also frequently recommended Sandia Vista when families or possible new residents walked through. It was also a space that I enjoyed being in, which made me feel good that my mom was there and likely had an effect on my visiting frequently during the week.

Unsafe location, do not recommend, keep looking
Only had my parents there 6 weeks as their apartment was broken into and had valuables stolen...horrible experience...completely unsafe for the helpless elderly and will never recommend this place due to location...sad but true. The staff are great...the location of the facility is totally unsafe for the elderly

Horrible location
The building is in one of the worst areas of Albuquerque. The homeless issue is horrible. I feel so unsafe when I visit my mom. The food has been a lot better recently but the amount of times I’ve heard staff complaining is ridiculous. For an independent living there are a lot of residents who do not seem independent either. Pretty disappointed with this community.

Clean, friendly , food, quality of care, activities, staff
I'm happy to say that she really enjoyed her brief stay there. Unfortunately she didn't stay long because her disabilities caused her to be in and out of hospitals. Extremely positive and cheerful atmosphere. Very clean. The food was much better than average. Lots of activities. It's a great place, and I may come back when it's my time.

Senior living at Sandia Vista
I have lived at Samdia Vista for14 months. I have found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. The public areas are always clean and well cared for. Housekeeping keeps our roomvery clean and checks on our well being periodically. There are many activities offered to all residents: art, crafts, exercise, gardening, meditation, trivia, bingo, and wine down Wednesday’s to name a few. They have both a car and a bus for doctors appointments and shopping. There are many food choices . Sandia Vista is THE place to be for ABQ SENIORS.

Great place to live
I have lived at Sandia Vista for one and a sixth years. My husband and I really like it here for a number of reasons. The building and apartments are very clean. A housekeeper cleans our apartment once a week. The grounds are well kept. There is a courtyard where we have picnics in the summer surrounded by beautiful flowers. If the residents want to, they can work on the gardens. There are a variety of activities to take part in; bingo, painting, bowling, crafting, kazoo band, shopping and others. Sandia Vista is a great place to live!

The Best in Albuquerque
I have lived here for over a year and it is the best place to lived. I have tried 3 other places and this one is tops. The food is FANTASTIC; we get fresh vegetables every day, even fresh peas (last time I had that I was in England). It is good, fresh and delicious. Best Independent Living by US News and World Report. That is national, think about it. That was 2023.

food
I have lived here for 2 years now. The staff is awesome. But the food is awful!!! They just got a new chef but he can't cook. The hamburger is always burnt, the chicken sandwich is taken out of the freezer, microwaved and put in a bun. Usually it's cold. I'm having to buy groceries so I can have a decent meal. What's the point of paying rent when you can't eat the food???? Thats the only complaint that I have. It's a nice place but when the food is awful its discouraging.

bad food
this place is pretty good. The food is the worst! Even with the new chef it's horrible. Im having to buy groceries even with the food allowance being paid in my rent. There should be more outings. We are confined here day in and day out, just would like a drive around more often. The staff on a whole are great.

A Place for Mom has scored Sandia Vista Senior Living 9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.   We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.   Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
