For a long time, my dad was living at home by himself, and honestly, all I did was worry. I was constantly checking my phone, wondering if he’d eaten a real meal, if he’d tripped, or if he was just sitting there lonely. I work and have my own responsibilities and it's stressful. The mental toll of just worrying is exhausting. We looked at a few places but this one just felt right. It was hard getting him use to the idea but he came around. Everything is so much better now, he actually has friends and does things. It's been a relief.

I recently toured Windland’s South on my own while exploring possible future living options for my mom, and I was genuinely impressed.
From the moment I arrived, everyone I encountered was welcoming, kind, and genuinely happy to be there. The community was exceptionally clean and well cared for, and it was clear that the residents feel comfortable, supported, and engaged.
What stood out most to me was the wide range of assistance options available—transportation services, strong opportunities for social involvement, and support with medication assistance or management if needed. It was reassuring to see how thoughtfully the community is set up to support independence while also offering help as needs change over time.
Overall, Windlands South left a very positive impression, and it’s comforting to know there are communities like this that truly prioritize both quality of care and quality of life.

Windlands South community is a independent living place if you can't take care of yourself you have no business being here. Things you don't use you still get charged or everything is inclusive. I would share with a person that there are many people like it here

Our tour guide, [name removed], was great. She was personable, knowledgeable and energetic. The facilities need freshening up and the renovated apartments are nice, but the hallway getting there is depressing. The HVAC would be noisy and difficult to maintain comfort, I think. The dining room was fantastic with lots of light, open and airy feel, friendly staff and outdoor tables for warmer weather. The setting has some nice grounds to walk around, but the immediate neighborhood is not where I would want to live.

I would say it is a safe place, with good supports in place that could use some updates. The in-home care on site is a benefit, but has some staffing issues and limitations-- much like many companies right now.

Moved from assisted living
I moved here after living in assisted living, and it has been such a positive change. I love that I can truly live independently while still having a care company on site if I ever need support. It gives me peace of mind without feeling like I’m giving up my independence.
The apartments are beautiful, comfortable, and well cared for, I love having a full kitche again and I finally feel like I have my own home again. The staff is friendly,allowing us to live life on our own terms.
Having access to care on site without being at the mercy of assisted living has made all the difference for me. It’s the perfect balance of independence and support, and I couldn’t be happier living here. It's also way more affordable.

Review for Windlands South
It was easy to use and very timely. The staff is friendly and it is well kept. The food is much slower if it is being delivered (hours) and sometimes even forgotten. They have been doing quite a bit of maintenance to the elevators and water. The water has been shut off multiple times for maintenance.
Overall my grandmother is happy with her apartment and living there with very friendly staff and residents.

Love my friends here.
I have lived here for 5 years, I have seen them make major improvements, totally renovating the entire building. The dining room is beauty and my favorite is the Library. My one bedroom apartment is spacious and i love being able to bake with the full kitchen. The friends i've made here have changed my life!

Beware, not what it seems!
So far, I am not very impressed or content.
The meals are worse than what we were served in grade school. The dining room is not very clean nor are the tables or the silverware.
The building itself is fairly "raggedy". Paint is peeling off of some of the walls in the lobby. The walls and elevators never seem to be cleaned. The garbage rooms are filthy. The laundry rooms seem to always have at least 1 broken washer or dryer that doesn't get fixed. We are supposed to get our rooms cleaned once a week. I have been here a month tomorrow and I have only had my room cleaned 1 time. We are also supposed to get clean linens weekly. I only get a towel or 2 when I beg for some.
Maintenance is a whole other matter. Except for 1 new man they are lazy and never fix anything correctly and never come back when they say they will. Their receptionist is very unfriendly. Their GM is very unapproachable. Their saleswoman who "sold" me on this property never came to check on me to see if I need anything or to see if I liked it here. Once she got me here and got my rent, I have not seen her again. Their shuttle is much more limited than I was lead to believe so I have to find my own transportation to medical appointments. The agency that was supposed to provide caregivers ( for a fee ) located in the building has turned out to be extremely short-staffed so I've been on my own to find an outside agency for a caregiver.

A horrible place for your mom
The place is falling apart. They don’t have a steam table so they can’t serve hot meals to the entire population. They don’t have glasses, cutlery, or silverware. They don’t have bowls. The ceiling above my bathtub collapsed, leaving a gaping hole. It had been repaired a couple of weeks earlier, but they purposely chose the wrong grade pipe to try to save some money. The place is going under the staff. Doesn’t give a damn for any of the people who live there don’t let anyone you know move into that place. It’s horrible.

Food portions a little skimpy according to my son. Activities unable to supply an answer for this one because my son, your tenant, does not participate. My son seems content living there.
