The nurse at the hospital would not listen to my concerns. I also told the people at Whitney Place that something was wrong and they worked with us helping to change meds (which I thought at the time must be the problem.) Everyone was kind and compassionate. The PCA was so kind! Speaking softly and encouragingly - when she didn't know I had just arrived and her back was toward me, I actually startled her when I spoke. I was so very relieved to know that when family wasn't around, the staff was wonderful. The nurses kept in touch with me almost daily, giving updates and asking questions. And they did have quite a challenge since we did not know what had brought the change to my loved one and she was declining quickly. I would certainly recommend Whitney Place to others.
