Total disapointment
We had to place our father so we did a lot of research before. Safety and care are very important. The Village was getting ready to open and the story of services was amazing. It took very little time before lack of attention to his needs became clear. The Elves are good but the office people are very untrained. They have a GP doctor that changes prescription because she knows better the specialists. They are unable to keep email information sent. 6 times email address was lost. I am very unhappy with serving him good he does not like. The interview asked all things about food meds habits this would all go into his file. It never did it got lost in the first few days. They don't do for the families what we are told. The homes are beautiful the senior staff is very poor. I would not tell anyone to place a loved one there until they learn what and how to do there jobs

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the British Columbia regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about British Columbia regulations for Assisted Living.
