Review for The Village at Carroll Park
They aren't glamorous - furniture is old but the patients don't mind. The money they save in that area helps keep the monthly costs down. The most reasonable care residence we considered. She ended up needing personal care. When I stopped viewing the décor through my eyes and realized the patients were totally fine with their rooms and the common rooms I realized things were cozier and more patient friendly and [name removed] made some friends. The staff was incredibly caring they showed her lots of attention and she loved joking with them. [name removed] was always a picky eater but she had no problem with the food, and we brought her lots of her favorite snacks. She actually looked at Carrol Village as her home. Instead of just sitting watching tv all day, she stopped turning her tv on and preferred sitting in the common room talking with people. She liked the sounds and movements of others. She didn't feel isolated and loved to chat with people. We think she truly found some peace and accepted living there.

Good Facility. Liked by All the Hospice Staff and Other Visitors.
Although, the facility itself is not new or fancy, the staff appears to really care about the residents. They know the names of all the residents they care for, and also the names many of the families that visit. The staff visits with the individuals as they are caring for them. The staff will joke with the residents an try to entertain them or make the resident laugh.

They meet the needs of a wide variety of patients.
Each resident has their own special needs at any moment. Some are older and frail, while others are younger but have issues that require more attention. A few of the residents are more vocal than others, so the extra noises must be ignored at times. Some may see this as a problem, but must eventually realize this is the way. I like that The Village is family owned, not corporate. Prices are almost half of other facilities. And there are no add-on charges at the end of the month based on the care provided.

Highly recommend
My friend moved here recently for memory care and is doing GREAT! We absolutely love them. The staff are all super hands on with the residents. They always have enough people around and the staff to resident ratio is great. It is also a good value. I would highly recommend The Village at Carroll Park.

Peace of mind
The main thing that sticks out about The Village at Carroll Park is the friendliness and openness. [name removed] the administrator you can talk to her any time you have any questions or concerns. In fact the staff is always very friendly as well. They offer a lot of activities. such as bingo, cards, sing alongs etc. One of the main reasons I put my dad here was for engagement so that has been a plus. I would highly recommend this facility to other families.

All we could afford. Be sure to advocate for your loved one.
I like Village at Carroll Park okay. Their primary focus is not on old people though. It's on mentally ill people or people with dementia. I wasn't really happy about it at first, so I make sure I visit every day. And I feel like they do more that they're supposed to do because of that. I don't see them doing as much for people without famly that doesn't visit. They're understaffed. All of these places are. If I didn't go every day, I wouldn't leave her there. Unfortunately I think all places in our area are like that.

I would recommend
I would tell others that is is a smaller facility that it is owned by a family who are medical professionals. We liked everything about it but she was here during covid so we could only visit through glass and an intercom. There was a lack of communication and I think they could of improved with that. I think it is a good facility run by good people and we had no complaints on any of the staff members at all. I would recommend it to others who are looking, it was a better value for the money.

The Village at Carroll Park is a very nice place. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. Cleanliness is a priority of the administration. Also visiting hours are open and family is encourages to visit at any time. There are activities but I wish there was more communication about activities that family members could take part in. The food smells really good. Overall, The Village at Carroll Park is a God send for my loved one.

It's very small and family like. I think they do a good job.
It's usually fairly clean. My dad is also always very clean. I never come in and seen the room a mess either. The only thing I don't like, is that I don't get a lot of feedback when the doctor comes to the home for a visit. It's a nice place. It's very small and family like. I think they do a good job.

A wonderful blessing!
A place for mom was truly a blessing to us. It allowed me to help my brother by hunting for a place for our mother from 500 miles away. I was able to have calls back from two care centers for memory assisted living the same day I talked to JoAnn from a place for mom. My brother checked it out and we now have her settled in an affordable and very caring place with helpful and kind people. we can't thank them enough!

It was okay, but they had pretty small rooms. We would have had a semi private room and a shared bathroom. It was pretty tiny and there wasn't much space, just a thin curtain between the two beds. There wasn't much privacy.
