Would highly recommend
1. Overall experience 4.5 - prior to Bridge Senior Living taking over I almost moved my father due to safety concerns. Since [name removed] became the Director there was a lot of positive change. If any concern arose, [name removed] addressed it immediately. 2. Cleanliness - 4.5. Every effort was made to keep the entire unit clean. Due to the nature of the clients that can be a struggle at times, but addressed as soon as possible. 3. Friendliness of staff - 5. All staff were friendly and respectful. Any concerns were addressed immediately by [name removed]. My father loved the staff and the staff loved my father in return. 4. Quality of care - 5. I never had to worry about my father once [name removed] became Director. Everyone on the unit from the housekeeper, [name removed], the nurses, CNA's, activities staff, dining staff, and all the way up to [name removed] and [name removed], memory care coordinator. I believe it is important to note that family involvement directly correlates to quality of care. 5. Meals/Dining -3. Choices were consistently offered to residents. Most staff had a lot of patience with the residents. There were times when food was thrown away if a resident got up from the table for any reason even when they had every intention of returning. Those who needed help eating or offered help. 6. Activities - 4. Activities were consistently offered. As long as train staff, we're on the unit the residents would participate. My father is very social and the activities were extremely beneficial for him 7. Value for Cost - I don't feel I am in a position to answer this question. Staff went above and beyond to ensure my father was safe, well cared for and able to stay on the unit. It takes adequate money to be able to run a memory care unit. I would've gladly paid more than was requested to know my father was taking care of.

Riches to Rags
It was great at first, and then they moved the person in charge to just doing events, and it went down Hill. They never renovated Memorycare as promised, and after a year it looked dingy and was dirty. There were stains everywhere. The Nursing staff was nice but some needed more education. The food was awful. I have moved my Mother to another Memorycare that is beautiful and clean. She is much happier.

Peace of mind knowing she is safe, cared for and happy
From our initial interaction with sales staff to daily interactions with caregiving staff, everyone is professional, friendly, courteous, and extremely attentive. The facility is lovely and the surrounding area has many pluses. There is a bird sanctuary next-door, a beach down the street and grocery store, restaurants and retail shops directly across the street. Transportation is provided when needed for church, shopping, etc. Our entire family is at ease knowing that she is safe, cared for, and happy.

Our families experience
Overall we had a great experience at the Carlisle. My father didn't use their nurses or medical staff so I can't speak to the quality of care. Everyone at the facility was great though and were always friendly. Some of the kitchen staff did give our private aide a hard time during meal pickup times. I had mentioned it to the head chef but my father left before we noticed an improvement. Also, my father didn't participate in the offered activities but it seemed that they always had a great daily schedule and plenty of offsite events as well. I would recommend the Carlisle to others. Especially with the remodeling they were doing when we left.

meeting but not exceeding expectations
When it comes to the care services - they went through a management change and there was some disorganization at the outset. The communication has been very very spotty. They seem to still be struggling to get organized under new management. Also though my mom's experience has been good, there are many residents who feel disenfranchised by the old management and have gotten in her ear -- so it has made her concerned.

Overall I would say the whole experiences around 4 out of 5. I know he's safe and his basic needs are met. Some staff are better at addressing his personality and needs. Some staff allow residence to remain in their room in the evenings and on weekends. I talked to a lot of the residents and overall they seem happy. Dad would personally rather be with people and so when everyone else is in their rooms, he seems bored. Overall he seems happy. He is definitely happier there than he was with me running him everywhere and feeling like he was in the way at our house. Anytime I have concerns and say something, the concerns seem to be addressed. The staff are very responsive.

Tour of The Carlisle
I virtually toured Carlisle Palm Beach with a tour guide and I wanted to take my mom here, it was our first choice. I had to make a faster decision and the community we chose reassured me that if I wanted to take her to one of their other locations, it'd be an easy move. I stuck with them because of that.

Move-in only IF ocean view is an absolute; otherwise move-in at your own risk
The only thing I like about The Carlisle is the view, which is why I came here. Everything else is a terrible disappointment. I’m not satisfied with the service, the management is not aware of what's happening, the food is terrible, and the residents' attitudes are very cliquey and insulting. I keep to myself and don't interact with anyone. It’s not what I thought it would be. When I toured, it was a different feeling than when I moved in. It just so happened that the particular day I toured, the food was excellent. The chef was outside the dining room preparing to flambé a peach dessert (the correct way). The dessert and food was terrific that day, only to move in and find that the food is comparable to dog food. They have a main menu and an alternate one. They had two choices on the alternate menu and none were available. They also changed the alternate menu. Before, they had salmon that could be prepared in different ways (poached, grilled, etc.). Now it's the "catch of the day" which is basically the fish served on the main menu, without the breading. They also used to have corned beef and we don't have that anymore. We have a new chef and his menu has been terrible. I have left without eating on several occasions. I choose pizza from the alternate menu because the protein they have available is minimal. They serve a lot of carbs like pasta. It really doesn’t work for me and my diet. Not being able to choose from the menu is terrible, I leave the table unsatisfied. I have to concoct my own meals, using condiments and garlic, which they sometimes say they don't have - even if it's on the menu. My most unpleasant experience is having to leave my room to go to dinner. Getting refills on soda is also difficult because they’ll often say they don't have anymore. I've had to learn to request the bottle of soda, instead of accepting it in a glass with half of it being ice. The dough in the dessert is often raw, so I'll ask for fruit instead and sometimes they're out of that too. I'll go early, sit down, and tell them in advance what I'd prefer; but they still say they don't have it in if I've ordered in advance. The food is getting worse and worse everyday. I ordered fish the other day and it was raw, with no taste or smell and seemed plastic-like. I'm not convinced it was real fish. Food is one of the most important things about living in a community, aside from sleeping. When I first moved here, I brought some cable and Wi-Fi equipment because I couldn't leave it in a vacant apartment. The company sent me a label to send it back, and I asked the front desk how they handle sending out packages. If it's light, I come down and drop it off. If it's heavy, someone will come up to get it. I called them in the morning and they didn't show up until after I had left for dinner. I found out someone came into my apartment without my permission and took the box in my absence. I also found that two weeks later, the package was not registered and had no movement with UPS because it was never sent out. I called down and told the front desk about it in the morning. I came back down at 4:30 pm on the same day and asked if it was still there. The front desk attendant went into the storage room, and said yes. I asked if UPS came by today, she said yes. I had to be adamant that someone leave a note and a reminder to have them pick up my package. That was completely unacceptable. When I toured the apartment, there were niche things that needed to be fixed. Upon moving in, it took them about two weeks of my insistent calling for them to fix those things. The only thing I like here is the ocean view, which I do have, but I didn't move here to complain and be unhappy. Management has been changed lately. One manager told me that this is a profit enterprise and that the residents are there to be plucked and used. I don't receive any service and I'm not satisfied. I talked to other residents and they said the community used to be so nice up until last year when it was moved over to a new company to maximize the profit. I also needed to change my will while living here and I needed to have two witnesses of notary public. When I called downstairs and asked if they had a notary public, she said "what's that?", and this was management. After she asked around, I found out that there's no notary public there. There are a lot of elderly people here, who need documents notarized. So they should have someone on the premises that is qualified to do so. They later had a town hall meeting, where a lot of residents complained. Elder people tend to yell and shout, and the management said, "If you don't like it, you can leave. No one is holding a gun to your head. But if you leave, you have to give a 60 days notice or pay 2 months rent". So really, you can not just leave. Initially I wanted to go and complain, but after I listened to the manager I realized that I have to live here for the rest of my life and I don't want to make enemies out of them. I don't want to set my hair on fire myself. I've decided to keep my mouth shut. When the fish was bad and tasteless I didn't send it back. Thank God I like sushi, and I just piled on mustard and sour cream to be able to eat it. Management is approachable, but are useless because they don't and can’t do anything. They always say, “We have to talk to corporate and corporate will not approve that”. That's their excuse. They're powerless and their job is to keep us subdued and quiet. If a resident complains, they will say “If you are nasty and negative, you will attract negative things. If you are positive, you will attract positive things”. They even put a quote up like that - and I think that's ridiculous. They’ll also tell us, "Be nice, don't be nasty to staff because they will leave and we won’t have any employees". I am trying to acclimate, but I am unhappy here. Before I moved in, I asked if they had a doctor on-site and they said yes. Shortly after I moved in, I had an accident and was sure I had broken a bone. When I asked to speak with the doctor, they said there was no doctor and I had to go and find my own. That was another big lie that upset me very much. They also nickel and dime you for everything that's extra; and from what I understand and have heard from other people - this is the best community in the area. But bottom line, it’s not worth what I'm paying.

So Happy to have found The Carlisle
Recently moved my mother to The Carlisle and it’s been the best thing for her. She wishes she had moved sooner. She has already made friends which was so important to her considering she had been isolated for so long now. The people that work there are extremely friendly and accommodating. This was the best decision!

Tour review
Our family had an in person tour and The Carlisle was absolutely beautiful, it seemed like a wonderful community. We would love moving there ourselves, but unfortunately the community was just a tad to big for our mothers liking.

Facility appearance is better than nursing care
The care services were terrible until the new nursing manager was hired and now things are getting better. My biggest complaint with the staff is that they are not using computer systems at all. they do not have a good phone system. You have to fill out paperwork to be able to do certain things and without me being close this can be difficult. It just seems like they could use some system updates. It looks nice and the rooms are nice but the care is not the best and it take a lot of follow up to make sure that my loved one can get the help that she should be getting. The meals are great and my loved one likes the meals I would recommend this community because it is not a bad place but for how much we spend I would have expected better care.

Carlise palm beach experience with Lydia
I have been coming to the Carlise for years and I have been in connection with Lydia Since she started and she has been nothing but amazing. The community is one of my favorites. The location is perfect. It’s right next to the ocean. I highly recommend this community to any of my family, friends, or clients.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the Florida regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about Florida regulations for Assisted Living.

A Place for Mom has scored The Carlisle Palm Beach 9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
