They had a private room for him as promised. The administration was pleasant to deal with and the Director of Nursing and his RN's were very caring and did a good job looking out for him. Most of the CNA's were good too. The Physical and Occupational therapists were excellent, and got him on his feet so that he could move back to his apartment at an Assisted Living Facility. The place is older and has some wear showing, but it is quieter and cozier than most. The reason they did not get 5 stars is the food. They had a retirement home in Lantana and were closely involved with the FAV for over 40 years. Mother volunteered to help with the monthly sales. Both visited friends and relatives who lived there, including both of my grandmothers. \n\nMother was 89 when it became too difficult to stay at home. Naturally she chose AL at FAV. Dad was 92 but still able to drive to visit her every day. After about a year both were in AL with rooms close to each other. Then Mother required nursing care, as did Dad did about a year later. For a time they shared a room on the nursing side. \n \nMother passed in July. Dad lived another three months before passing at the age of 95. Neither wanted to be anywhere but the FAV during the last few years. The Finnish culture and atmosphere stimulated their minds as their bodies wore out. She was admitted during the pandemic as a long term care resident, however the awesome rehab staff worked with her and she was able to successfully move into a lovely room as an ALF resident. Everyone was so caring, kind, patient, and she loved the food, activities and parties. The activities director went out of her way to help accommodate Mom so she could participate in different activities. When Mom started to decline and had to be hospitalized, the DON personally moved rooms around very late at night to make sure she had a bed for rehab. They always treated her like family, and as she always said, \"There are no crabbies here! Everyone is so nice!\". The assisted living area of the community has two private suite floor plans to choose from and a variety of indoor activity rooms. There is a Finnish sauna and an exercise gym that offers classes. This community also schedules off-campus activities, such as shopping and visiting Lake Worth’s attractions. The skilled nursing area of the community provides services from long-term medical care to hospice care. Residents in this facility can access a social worker, physician, and medical director as needed. Rehabilitation services are also provided.
