Comfort and security for a youngish Alzheimer's patient
Sunrise has provided a home for my cousin with early onset Alzheimer's disease that is comfortable, safe, and gives her a certain amount of agency as well. The staff is very nice, affectionate and actually quite fun. The food seems to be pretty good, too. The spaces are clean and well maintained. I like that they bring young people in to interact with the residents.
The facility is undergoing renovations right now so some activities are not available which is a shortcoming, but hopefully they will be in place soon. It is good to show up for your relative and make it known that she/he has outside support.

Things to know about Sunrise Countryside
I'm skeptical of how they determine additional costs for care. They said it would be temporary but they never adjusted the extra price down after 90 days. I was under the impression that they would reassess after 30 days.
My mom didn't eat lunch or dinner there and chose to make her own food but my one experience eating there was not great. For the cost I would think the food would be much better

Sunrise was a great decision
I have found the people on the staff wonderful. They are so kind to my mom and are a pleasure to deal with. They communicate very well to me as the caretaker.
Mom thinks they could communicate a little better with her. But she is also difficult to deal with so I can see why they come more to me.
I'm very happy with sunrise. They are pretty expensive, we spend upwards of [removed] every month. But for this area the value is okay.

Very positive experience
Everybody is very helpful and attentive to my needs. The staff come and check making sure I am okay. I haven't participated in activities yet since I'm still getting myself acclimated to my new environment. So far i am very happy and satisfied with my new place.

I love it here!
I love it here, what can I say? Everything is compact. Everyone is helpful and friendly. The food is great and I enjoy every meal. I haven't been participating in activities yet, but I will once everything is situated in my apartment.

It feels like home.....
This is not new to me because my father was in the nursing home. When I first came, the place is so warm and comfortable that it made me feel like I was already home. Everyone I met is very nice and accommodating and very helpful. I love the food and I will be joining the daily exercise soon.

I picked the community because the company is well known for providing quality housing. I picked Countryside specifically because of the value. I have told friends that Mom seems very much cared for by the staff. I get regular medical updates. Everyone is friendly to me when I'm there. Just seem to be very good people who care about the residents.

Sunrise experience
When I moved here 4 1/2 years ago the ED was very stable and she had an answer to every question I had. Since she left there is no consistency on that position anymore. The staff are very helpful and do their best to provide the services that we need. The community is clean and the environment is very homelike.

New in the community
I have adjusted to my new environment since I moved in over a month ago. Staff are very friendly and helpful although some have their favorites but it's getting better. I love the activities and I enjoy playing bingo, and mahjong. I also enjoy all the musical entertainment. I suggest that staff wears their badge all the time so I can recognize them. Being a new resident, I don't remember their names sometimes. I'm also satisfied with the food.
