What we like the most about the community is -
*The brightness inside the apartments.
*The bright and beautiful atrium-- as the center of the common area which is constantly frequented by the guests, this keeps a feeling of a beautiful hotel rather than a center for assisted living.
** the rose garden and porch on back of facility is phenomenal--too bad the doors are not kept accessible

All in all it's an OK place. My apartment is spacious. The food is up and down. Some very good some not so much.
The food service in general is the worst. It takes two to three hours for each meal. They deliver the food to your table and I have yet to get a HOT meal. Luke warm at best.
The building is not luxurious. It's serviceable at best.
Right now we have a wash room that is out of order. Two broken dryers and one of two broken washers. Rather than purchase industrial grade machines they purchase on the cheep. Instead of calling a repair man to fix it they use their in house handy man who knows nothing of how washers or dryers work.
This is a TOTALLY independent care facility. There is a group that can give basic needs care on campus and for a fee can perform specific tasks.
The food is fair with extremely limited choice.
Other than that its like any other B grade apartments.

The employees are super nice but there were a couple of things that we were told & after my stepmom moved in it wasn't. The biggest complaint is the food....right before she moved in there was a separate menu that the residents could pick from everyday if they didn't like the 2 entrees being served. My stepmom really liked that due to her being picky. The week she moved in they stopped that option. We were also told that they would supply towels & wash them...they don't do that.

My experience
If you're not in the click then your on your own -but it is a place for my parent to live- they seem to do a lot of activities which keeps the residents busy. I have to say we didn't start out on a good foot. The staff is the problem not the residents.

I LOVE IT HERE
I LIVE AT STORY POINT SOUTH AND HAVE BEEN HERE A YEAR AND A HALF AND I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH MY HOME. THIS IS AN AMAZING PLACE TO BE IN MY LATER YEARS BUT WE HAVE FUN AND EXCITEMENT AND SPECIAL EVENTS AND THE STAFF THAT PROVIDE THESE WONDERFUL TIMES ARE RIGHT THERE WITH US TO BE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR GOOD TIMES AND THEY MAKE SURE WE HAVE MANY EVENTS AND THEY ARE AS MUCH FUN AS THE ENTERTAINMENT. I LOVE MY APARTMENT IT IS VERY NICE, I HAVE TWO SMALL DOGS AND EVERYONE LOVES THEM AND FEEDS THEM SCOOBY SNACKS WHEN THEY SEE THEM AND THEY GET PETTED ALL THE TIME. THE CLEANING STAFF ARE SO KIND AND HELPFUL AND WILL HELP YOU NO MATTER IF THEY ARE BUSY SOMEWHERE ELSE THEY WILL STOP IF THEY CAN AND HELP YOU OR WILL MAKE A TIME TO HELP YOU. During the initial tour [names removed]e lied about the quality of the food, transportation for residents, and the level of function that most of the residents were capable of doing. House keeping is under staffed. They partially clean rooms every other week. No one changes your bed or wash linens. On weekends no one is on duty for resident safety. Waitresses are under staffed. I could fill up a whole page with problems!

Our dining program offers a variety of meals and options designed to meet different preferences. Resident favorites include dishes such as beef chili with cornbread, stuffed bell peppers, and apricot chicken breast. In addition, we offer an alternative menu for both lunch and dinner that includes items like burgers, BLTs, cold salads, and fresh fruit. We are also continuing to enhance our dining experience by introducing rotating weekly menu options, including a salad, a handheld item, and a featured protein. Regarding staffing, while we are currently working to fill a small number of open positions, we are actively interviewing candidates and moving quickly through the hiring process. Our goal is always to maintain a strong team to support our residents, and we are confident these openings will be filled soon. Housekeeping services are in place and fully staffed. Apartments are cleaned on a regular schedule, and linens are changed and beds made upon request every other week. If there has been any miscommunication or missed service, we encourage residents to notify our team so we can address it promptly. For weekends, resident safety and oversight remain a priority. A Leader on Duty is scheduled each weekend and is also on call at all times. In addition, leadership team members rotate coverage, perform regular building walk-throughs, and support both the dining room and resident needs. Our Dining Room Manager and Sous Chef are also scheduled on weekends to ensure continuity in service. Transportation is available multiple times throughout the week. We provide scheduled transportation for medical appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays, grocery shopping on Wednesdays, and social outings on Fridays. Residents can easily sign up in advance to reserve their spot. We understand that no experience should feel anything less than supportive and comfortable, and we take your concerns seriously. Great Care | Difficult Management
While my mother's experience in the community was excellent and the staff was supportive, I have encountered significant difficulty and zero follow-through from management regarding the final billing after her recent move to memory care.
The apartment was vacated and cleaned out on [date removed], following a formal move-out letter submitted on [date removed], stating a vacating date of [name removed] (we moved her earlier than anticipated).
Despite moving out and giving notice, the full November rent was charged to my account on [name removed]
My subsequent attempts to receive a final bill have been unsuccessful. I was told on [name removed], that a final bill would be emailed to me, but I have not received the document or any further communication since that time.
I require an immediate final bill that resolves the November rent charge and a confirmed date for when the refund will be processed. The lack of communication and promptness regarding a financial matter is

Pros and cons
The people are polite. However, there seems to be a high turnover rate for employees. When there was an issue, it was difficult to make contact with anyone when I called the general number. It's best to email a specific person to address any issues going forward.

Poor leadership
The facility as a whole promised things they not provide. The place has no security and is poorly managed . Safety needs to be taken seriously as we are seniors. And there is no Chapel. Some of the residents are extremely handicapped and this is supposed to be independent living.

A wonderful experience with StoryPoint
I would rank it is a 5.0. But, with anything there are always areas of improvement. However, knowing resources and other options in the community coupled with what I have seen, my father has personally experienced. Our family all agrees,, Story Point South is by far the BEST option for anyone seeking independent living, instead of Assisted Living!!
The community coupled with Green Leaves services proves an affordable independent living opportunity filled with activities, outings, a community where the entire atmosphere is like a family with constant allianes forming. I am most impressed with how friendly staff and residents are with everyone. I get greeted by residents and office staff every time I am on that campus. I cannot say that about any other community living optionsn, in which I have visited or my father lived previously. Considering the friendly and encouraged engaging community
within their offered services, this residential community is truly above a 5.
Story Point South is a well rounded, Senior Living Community. They have a beautiful campus with outside walking paths, surrounded with beautiful foliage and endless seating areas along the paths. This allows you to stop and take a break, before continuing your walk or just to intake some much needed vitamin D. This is great since my dad cannot take extended walks without a short rest. Inside the facility you can expect to experience a light aray of greys, creams, whites
and hints of blue is the decor, this gives the appearance of a light and welcoming atmosphere, which also extends into to each apartment. The apartments are large and designed with beautiful light colors throughout, including the cabinetry. In addition, every unit has an outside space, either a spacious patio or balcony!
Next, the campus also has on-site Theraphy Services and a beautiful dining room and has preset dining prior to every meal.
Your plates are served with a cover on them to ensure all the food stays warm between prep and delivering to each resident. All of the staff seems to quickly learn The residents eating preferences and beverage preferences. There are water decanters on the tables prior to every meal. The maintenance staff are quick to address any concerns and repairs, including light bulbs a faucet that has a drip. There is a network of combination sharing channels by easy access to event calendars, newsletters attached to everyone's doors and what to expect with any maintenance or work around the campus to ensure communications are extended to every resident. There is on-site laundry rooms on every floor, which do not require any funding other than your own personal cleaning products. Everything in this facility is so inclusive and well planned! My family is over the top grateful for our father to still maintain his independent living in such a beautiful friendly and supportive community.

l would highly recommend Story Point South. My sister is very happy there. Her space is perfect for her and the windows and balcony is great. My neighbor moved in Story Point about 2 years ago and l had visited with her. So when my sister needed a place, l told her daughters that this would be the perfect place for her. So, they brought her to see the place and she fell in love with the living space. She also commented on how nice and friendly everyone was to her. My sister is very pleased with all the services that she received. The people sitting on both side of the outside entrance creates a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Each time l have come to visit my sister they all speak and that make a great feeling of comfort and joy. Story Point South is a great second home and I would recommend it to all.

They lied about everything. This facility is the absolute worst. The CEO doesn't care about the residents and the sales lied about everything they have and offer. You don't want to be a part of this company. They are terrible people that run this place.
