He was very lonely and at Solstice they just embraced him and his culture. They started an ASL class on Saturdays and meet and learn ASL just so they can communicate with him more. It's a very tolerant community. The people and staff have just been great to him and it gives me so much comfort that he can live out his life with such a group of kind and caring people. He's made friends and goes to all the activities and is enjoying himself. He does line dancing and art class. He goes to social hours and out to eat every week with a group. They don't seem to have a problem with him or communicating. Mom's favorite thing to do is sit on her patio in the evening and just enjoy the nature. The food is great and there is lots to do. They have cards, dominoes, exercise classes, crafts, movies. They have big parties with live music and drinks and food, social hours, and the dining room food is awesome! I joined Mom tonight for dinner and we pigged out on pot stickers that were just as good as any restaurant you could ever go to. I love this place and hope to move in myself one day.
