First, staff will conduct an in-home assessment to determine how you can benefit the most from the services offered. Then, you’ll be matched to a caregiver based on your needs, interests, and personality.</p>
<h3>Services</h3>
<p>Companion care goes a long way in helping to prevent social isolation and maintain cognitive abilities. Caregivers can bond with your loved one by playing games, reading aloud, going for walks together, and providing transportation if your loved one wants to run an errand or visit a friend. They can also help out around the house with homemaking services, including laundry, cooking, trash disposal, and home organization.</p>
<p>If your loved one needs physical assistance, caregivers can help with mobility, transfers and positioning, dressing, and wheelchair assistance. Hygiene can be challenging for some, but you’ll receive help with showering and bathing, toileting and incontinence care, grooming, and shaving. Your loved one will also receive any necessary reminders for taking medication, checking blood sugar or heart rate, attending upcoming appointments, and turning off appliances.</p>
<p>Right at Home employs specialized caregivers who can help those who have had a stroke, are recovering from cancer, or have Parkinson’s, diabetes, arthritis, Alzheimer's, dementia, and many other conditions. Caregivers are trained to focus on what your loved one is capable of doing rather than on what they can’t. They’ll provide them with safety, assist with recognition and perception, and engage them in activities to support their cognitive abilities.</p>
<p>If your loved one needs a higher level of care, home health aides are available. These caregivers are trained as a certified nursing assistant or patient care assistant. They can administer medication, check vital signs, change dressings, and assist with medical equipment. You can also use Right at Home for respite care services, which give full-time caregivers a break from their duties in order to care for themselves for a little while.</p>
