Wonderful staff. We really appreciate them
Overall, we are happy with Langdon Place, particularly with the nursing staff. They are warm, friendly, patient. The place is not well maintained and could be cleaner. We have noted safety issues like radiator ends sticking out, water collecting in pockets on the canopies in the garden which could be more colorful and groomed. The place is dated and needs some repairs but the staff makes up for all that. They could use better communication. We tell staff things but they don't seem to have a way to share that information amongst themselves - where extra pull-ups are stored, that we are picking her up for an appointment, that we do the laundry, etc. She is in memory care now and needs to be but isn't stimulated enough. She misses her computer and TV but can no longer use them independently.

Great apartment, location, and activities, but terrible communication
Langdon Place was a great move for my dad, who is 94, but still lives independently. The apartment is great, the planned activities are wonderful, dining experience is very good. However, communication and planning for doctor's and nurses' visits, and getting results from bloodwork is really poor. My father has been told that a doctor and/or nurse will come on a Friday or a Monday, and no one shows up. This has happened several times. Also, his prescription refills are ordered and supposedly processed the same day, but it has taken more than a week to get his hands on the prescription. The explanation provided is that they "were put in the wrong place." He has had the same experience trying to get results from bloodwork. Aside from this very poor communication and liaison, it's a great place, and my father is happy there so far.

The staff was outstanding- the programming because of the room size was inadequate in my opinion.Seemed a logical choice as that was the only facility accepting Physical Therapy Patients. I had not at that point researched other Assisted Living Options.

A peaceful place to hang your hat... a nice community, friendly staff, would recommend...
It was a great experience for our loved one [name removed]. Life changes so I had to pull him out but I would take him back if life changed. What we like the most is the atmosphere, the staff, the food, they were very accommodating. [name removed] enjoyed it there. Just wish that assisted living wasn't so expensive

Overall a positive experience
What we really like about Langdon Place is the location - it is very conveniently located close to our family which is nice. We also feel this is a place where our loved one is safe. She does not need much care but the care she does need the staff seem to be reasonably accommodating and she is well looked after. Our loved one does not participate in the activities but we do know they offer them. This community feels much more homier then others we toured, and the value is comparable. Based on our experience we would recommend this community to other families.

Everyone at Langdon Place has been really friendly and our loved one is really enjoying the meals and dining service. When we speak with him he says the are incredible and he really enjoys going on different field trips. He has his own onw bedroom apartment and based on our experience so far we would absolutely in a heart beat recommend this community to other families.

Dad's care at Langdon Place - Dover
Dad's care at Langdon Place was very good. The staff was respectful and made my dad feel welcome.
The cost of room and board was reasonable compared to other facilities in the area. We were very pleased with services like nursing, physical therapy, speech & language, and opportunities for social interaction. Under difficult conditions, they handled Covid outbreaks well.
The only recommendation for improvement would be the accessibility to an onsite PCP. The last couple of months were difficult as the PCP moved on and they needed to fill that position with a permanent physician. We realize that there is a physician shortage at all medical facilities at this time. Langdon Place did the best they could, under the circumstances.
Dad spent the last 11 months of his life at Langdon Place. In his final weeks, he was under Hospice care, and it was a smooth transition with their staff.
Our family was grateful for the good, compassionate care that Dad received at Langdon Place.

My aunt was admitted to LPD a few months ago. She loves it there! The staff is very friendly and treat her like a family member. She never wanted to go
Into a nursing facility and fought it for years. But now she is content. Her home was actually just sold and the process went very smoothly with no regrets! The staff has been amazing! All I can say is Thank You! My aunt hasn’t look this good in years…and I am being totally serious! I would absolutely recommend LPD to anyone looking for skilled rehab/LTC.

Our experience in finding a place for dad
We chose Langdon Place of Dover because of the onsite medical care and the location was good for family. It is an older facility but they have updated some of the areas though. I do think it is overall a good place with a good value for the money. They could improve on communication with the visiting medical and on site medical with the families. I would recommend to others looking as long as it it fits your loved ones needs.

While most healthcare facilities are experiencing critical shortages, we are actually in a better situation and have more staff than most places. Your mom's care is our number one priority and she is never lacking for care. One on one care is something that no memory or assisted living facility in our area is able to offer nor have any of us ever offered it. When she needs any care, we have the staff to ensure it is given quickly, safely and with compassion!

Very lucky we found them
We chose Langdon Place of Dover because we were in the middle of a crisis and they had a ground floor apartment available with a back deck and they were happy with that. The apartment size that they have is really good. The staff members have been fairly good with communication, but I think it has just been a very stressful time and they have done the best that they can. We are very lucky we found this facility and that they are safe and I would recommend them.

Do Not Send Your Loved One Here
My friend recently had a hip replacement and had a horrible experience at Langdon Place. I will NEVER, EVER allow her (or any other person I know) to get sentenced to a stay at this place. There are patients calling out for help and nobody ever comes to see what's the matter. They call out for their medication that was supposed to be given three hours ago and nobody comes. My friend was transferred to a different room after the first night of listening to her roommate crying for help all night, and then she started threatening my friend. The second room had NO BOTTOM SHEET & nobody came to help my friend who ended up using the top sheet on the bottom (making the bed with a 4 day old hip replacement). The food was disgusting. No menu ... you get what you get. Tepid coffee & tea. Breakfast one morning was two pieces of sausage. That's it. When she complained, they gave her five more pieces! An hour later they brought her two fried eggs. Dinner one night was a large scoop of macaroni & cheese with a small scoop of undrained stewed tomatoes. The tomato juice mixed in the with the mac & cheese. Disgusting. They hide the thing to call the nurse in the drawers that the old people can't reach! When another friend went to pick up my friend who was discharged, , she couldn't find ANYBODY IN THE PLACE to let them know that she was picking her up. Anybody could have walked in there and taken any of those old people without permission. They charged $12,000 for a two night stay.

My mom moved to Langdon Place one and a half years ago. The process to get her moved and settled was great. Her room and common areas are clean and modern and she has developed relationships with residents and the staff members. Having her there has given her four children comfort that she is being cared for. she is now settled in and considers Langdon Place her home. Thank You

We have been here for over a year and realize what a good choice we have made being here. We are very independent in our large apartment and are fully able to care for our selves but nursing staff is based within feet of our apartment if we need them. We have made many compatible and kind friends.
