Review for Holiday Willow Grove
My MIL is very happy so far with her apartment, the food, location, and activities. She has found most people to be friendly and welcoming. So far, my mother-in-law has really enjoyed living there. The staff has been helpful. She has made friends and participates in some of the activities.

Confused identity
One thing I would say is that they need to decide whether they are an independent living facility or an assisted care facility. They don't seem to want the responsibility of being an assisted care facility, but there isn't a lot of independence either. They don't provide a dish washing machine. She has to share a community clothes washer with the entire floor, which they can only use at certain times. They don't allow her to have any kind of stove or crock pots. They told her she could have flowers on her porch and use the spigot on the outside of her building, and then removed the spigot. She bought[Amount Removed] worth of flowers and supplies and now she is losing them because she can't water them. For the money she is paying, I could find her a regular house to rent and a maid once a week to help with cleaning, and have money leftover. She would save money and have actual independence. I am currently looking for a rental closer to us so I can look in on her better. I'm not impressed at all with the place she is in for the money she is paying. It was a good transition place to move her into my area, at least. That's about the best I can say for it.

Everyone was very polite and helpful when I brought my mom for a tour. [name removed] is well loved in the facility and knows her clients. We joined some residents for lunch. The food I would rate as good not great. The meat was easy for my mom to cut with a fork which is important at her age.

Tour was very helpful. We were shown a model unit and an actual available one. We observed the home in action during mealtimes and. Were even offered a meal. Many residents out and about visiting with one another. Very friendly atmosphere and all residents were seemingly very happy to be there! Staff were informative and willing to help. It turned out to be our chosen place to reside.

overall but dining could be better.
Staff is friendly, but can sometimes come across terse.
The dining is nice, but the food quality has decreased since September when my mother-in-law moved in.
Activities are good but MIL would like off campus group outings.
Overall cleaning, this is good, but she says her room is not clean twice a week like was explained when she moved in.

Overall Pleased
Transportation is only from 9-2 and drop off times dependent on others needing rides so it's possible for people to have to sit for hours surrounding their appt time and if appt is at 12 or 1 they might not have transport available back.
Food is reported to be too salty- not prepared fresh on site
Fair amount of activities
Walking past laundry areas garbage seems to be overflowing often
Pro/ onsite option for home care-additional assistance
Building is otherwise clean and well kept

Holiday Willow Grove
I haven't heard much in the way of positive remarks lately. The food is cheap highly processed without much emphasis on nutritional value. Rules are always changing. Staff doesn't last long. They just got a $[removed]a month rise in rent, and there is a $[removed]"anniversary payment" tacked on once per year that no one knows the purpose of. It seems to simply be poorly run. My mother does not like it there.

They are very caring and eager to help you make your transition. We moved here as my husband (87) wanted flat surfaces to walk on year round - condo community we enjoyed had sloped streets - not good for his neuropathy, feared falling. He wanted to be free of maintenance responsibilities
It hurt his back to standv& do dishes. Our retirement agreement was I would cook & he would do dishes.For mos he would ask how many pans I'd use!
Being a planner he wanted us in place before one of us dies so the other wouldn't have to make decisions in grief. I am 85 & am adjusting to no kitchen, no W/D in apt.

Review for Holiday Willow Grove
I really like Holiday Willow Grove. You can do your own thing if you want or they have plenty of planned activities also for you to do.
The food is good too. The breakfast is a little early- it would be better if it ran from 8:30-9:30. It's hard to get to sometimes and I think not just for me but others too. It would also be good if you could go down comfortably in a nice robe.
It's nice they have Church here also available.
The keys work good on the doors after hrs.

Aging with friends
Our children came on the tour with us, and we were all favorably impressed with the people, the apartments, and the general aura of family in the place. We have now been residents of Willow Grove for 11 months and really enjoy the place and the friends we've made here.

Overall Very Nice Community
Willow Grove met everything we were looking for in senior care. It was clean, staff very friendly, cordial and pleasant, the food was good and well portioned, tons and tons of activities for all. The price was very reasonable too. Our family member is happy and has adjusted well.
