Our forever home
In our search for a forever home for my client, [name removed], she was very specific at what she was looking for. She wanted to be able to have access to everything she needed, to facilitate her medical care, and home living. We went to tour Holiday Gardens at Wakefield, the staff, and residents were very welcoming. They even had a welcome sign with our names on it waiting, and a bag of goodies. [name removed] showed us some of the amenities like the gym, hair salon, and the awesome dining area. The application process was painless, and once we viewed the very spacious, and accommodating apartment, my client knew this was the one, out of all of the others she has looked at. [name removed] and her cat [name removed], enjoyed sitting on her balcony, and taking in the fresh air, and the quietness of the community as a whole. She loved the convenience of her meals being brought to her, so she could stay on schedule w/ her meds. She told me time and time again," I love it here, i have finally found my peace."

Warm, welcoming community!
I have visited The Gardens a few times and each time I visit, I see how warm and welcoming the community is. I absolutely love the changes in decor that came with renovations. The staff go above and beyond for the residents and the residents all care about each other and seem more like family. The food is delicious and there is a good variety too!

Great Experience with Holiday Gardens
Choosing a retirement community for a loved one is a difficult prospect. With many options available, finding the right fit was harder than we expected. After visiting a number of the well-known facilities in the area, Holiday Gardens at Wakefield stood out among the rest. We were welcomed by [name removed], who was readily available for our questions, tours and more questions. The transition was smooth, communication clear and follow up has been diligent. The community feels more like home than others we toured. The grounds are beautiful. Staff has been accommodating and warm. There have been many opportunities for my dad to become involved and residents seem very happy when I visit. I highly recommend Holiday Gardens.

Excellent choice
The Gardens has provided a friendly atmosphere for my mom. They have looked after her and made sure she was assigned to someone who could show her around. She has enjoyed the meal choices, and all the activities that are offered such as Bible study, exercise and card games. She says people and staff have been very friendly.

Piece of mind that Mom is in a great place
My Mom lives far from me and suffered falls in her two story home, leading to many hospital trips. I flew "home" to sell her house and find the best place for her at her age of 79. Holiday Gardens at Wakefield stood out to me after much touring as the most appropriate place for her safety, independence, and socialization. Of course, being across the coast, I worried about leaving her there. I am so happy to say that my mom has thrived at Holiday Gardens. She is more social and happy in her new setting, meeting many friends of her age that are still independent. She constantly brags about the meals she gets. She has transformed from a woman that insisted in staying in her original home into a woman that loves senior apartment living. I also can't say enough about the staff that helped me during this emotional transition and who continue to email me about mom's activities and engagement. The rent is very low compared to other places I considered. I give my highest recommendation!

My turn
Built for Senior Housing on 12800 Spruce Tree Way, are 120 apartments. I have always wanted to see the inside of the Gardens at Wakefield. Here I am in 2024 as a 3/4% age of a Senior. I have had the pleasure of touring and renting my dream apartment home. Little did I know how kind and receptive this community would be. Filled with activities, lovely living spaces, recent!y renovated, numerous amenities, with 3 meals a day. The campus also has beautiful canopies of River Birth trees and shrubs. Come on over, you won't regret it.

Warm Welcome
I was very impressed with the Gardens at Wakefield when I toured it for my parents. It is a clean, modern facility with a beautiful garden and surprisingly large apartments. My parents were able to move into a newly renovated apartment overlooking the garden. It's so nice that they will have weekly housekeeping and all meals included! The staff and residents have been kind and welcoming to my parents as they settle in. We like how close the Gardens is to lots of shopping, a great library, and YMCA.

I visited this community and it is very warm and welcoming. It has also been remodeled and has a new, more modern look. The staff is friendly, the residents seem very happy and while I was there a lot of activities were taking place. It’s also nice that is it located in a quiet residential area and they have beautiful gardens in the back to enjoy time outside in a pretty setting.

Cozy, Classy, and Caring
We stopped looking for a home for mom and dad the minute we walked through the doors at the Gardens of Wakefield. I was shocked to realize this place would work out for both of their needs due to the extra services that are available in the building. Since physical therapy and the home health care services are offered right here, I am able to tag team care for my parents and keep them out of a nursing home. The cost savings is tremendous (the nursing home price tag would be $[removed] for each parent) and the quality of life is beyond what I thought could be possible. To be sure this is not an "old folks home". It is modern, bright, and sunny. Many residents drive and live very independently. My parents are thriving here now that they are out of rehab due to the cheerful atmosphere and wonderful care they are getting here at the Gardens. They have also met terrific friends. I encourage any caregiver of a family member to take a tour here and see for yourself. It's cozy yet classy!

GREAT PLACE FOR INDENDENT LIVING
We found The Gardens thru a PLACE FOR MOM. My mom has been happy living there when it was a 55 and older community, then became Holiday then Atrium. Things sure did change but always coming up with a great way for Senior Living. She was happy there for many years and became part of a wonderful family. We believe she was there for about 12 years. She was there with many staff changes and renovations but always happily. Thank you all for loving and caring for our Mom.

The Gardens Staff and Community Truly Care
My mother lived at The Gardens for four years. Throughout those years, the resounding reason for her contentedness was the sincere care with which she was treated by both staff and fellow residents. Whether a simple, hello, how are you, or the settling of any particular issue, the staff was always warm, welcoming, and responsive. The community is joyful and authentically caring. The residents know and engage with one another. They look out for each other and keep each other in their hearts and prayers, especially if one is ill. The facilities are clean and welcoming. The maintenance director is top notch and fixes anything in a timely manner. Both the Chef and Activity Director are fun, approachable, listen and plan according to residents’ desires. The administrative staff is phenomenal. They truly listen, engage and problem solve. Each is always there to help or to simply convey their authentic appreciation of each individual. My mother loved living atThe Gardens. It was home and family.

Great Friendship, Family and Caring People!
The first experience at TGAW was the feeling of being welcomed and accepted, specially at a difficult time. Moving from Florida, the first day we were staying, my husband did, but I was admitted to the Duke Hospital for 9 days before arriving at TGAW. Worried by all, I was later relieved knowing my husband had a very warm welcoming by the Staff, employees and residents at the TGAW. Also, a Resident Ambassador was assigned to him for orientation. When I arrived after being released from the Hospital, it was a similar pleasant experience for me too. During the short period of time we stayed, we enjoyed the environment and amenities of the facilities. We won’t forget the sharing with friends during meals at the dining room. Also, the members of the Staff and employees of the TGAW were like part of the family as well as professionals, each on their own role, most of them exceeding expectations. We are very grateful for the services received and will miss them all. We will keep in touch!

[name removed] is truly the best !
The property had everything I was looking for, and then some! [name removed], The manager, is absolutely phenomenal. She makes you feel right at home, from the moment you walk in! and most importantly, at ease with the transition. The residents are so caring and friendly unlike some of the communities we had visited. Her new neighbor, even put a welcome sign out in front of our door for my mom! I’m so relieved, knowing that I have my mother somewhere, she will be well HAPPY and well taken care of! A big thank you to [name removed], for going above and beyond and making this process as easy as possible.

A Place for Mom has scored Holiday Gardens at Wakefield 9.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
