They accommodated his specific needs that most assisted living would not. It is not the best place. But most definitely not the worst. Staff not very attentive.

Some of the staff were competent, but more were untrained which they admitted and there just wasn't enough staff. The weekends were tough. The housekeeping was good. Communication was poor with the family. The meals were rather unappetizing and not very warm when served. The move in went well, but there was little education for family members. Again, not enough staff. I had hospice to help 3x a week, otherwise my loved one wasn't bathed or changed very often. I had to hire a night nurse. I would not recommend this facility. Thank goodness for hospice and my loved one's night nurse. The staff was constantly leaving or being fired.

Mom never made it to the facility, went to hospital and could not live independently. However facility was not trying to give a refund all money. I had to call Better Business Bureau to get done. Without the Better Business Bureau help we would not have received. I do not recommend. Staff was not as appeared

The Landings at Norcross review
I believe the Medical Care Deficiency is Serious. That seems to be the TREND of The Landings at Norcross which smacks of Warehousing. Many Seniors don't have a Close Family Advocate. The Landings of Norcross- Memory Care. Positive Experiences are General Cleanliness & Safety with Overall Nourishing Menu. Rooms are Comfortable. The Downside: Staff is CONTRACTED...Every Week there is a New Staff leaving NO CONTINUITY of CARE! THE EXCUSE IS "I'M NEW AND I DID NOT FIND ANY NOTES"! SEVERAL TIMES, STAFF LET [name removed] MEDS RUN OUT WITHOUT LETTING ME KNOW. ( WE had an Agreement upon Move-In that I would order his Meds from VAMC ATLANTA & DELIVER TO THEM.) I AM SO HAPPY I DID! DURING THESE TIMES, I HAD TO RUN DOWN TO VA MEDICAL CENTER PHARMACY, PICK UP REFILLS & RUSH THEM TO NORCROSS. IF I WAS NOT TOTALLY ENGAGED IN HIS CARE, I SHUDDER TO THINK OF THE POSSIBLE OUTCOME.ONCE HE WAS OUT OF Propranolol For 4 DAYS! AFTER A YEAR WITH NO Improvement, IT WAS TIME TO MOVE. WE WILL BE SEARCHING IN THE FRANKLIN/ BRYSON CITY, NC AREA FOR A BETTER SOLUTION. OUR EXPERIENCE WAS WITH MEMORY CARE SECTION ONLY. FACILITY NON- MEDICAL STAFF & Facility Mgt WAS VERY NICE & Always Helpful. In Memory Care, Leonard was supposed to get 2 Supervised BATHS WEEKLY & Daily Hygiene Coaching, such as BRUSHING TEETH. NON- EXISTENT! We would NOT Re-admit There!

A great place for Dad
It was an awesome place. Daddy was taken care of and he loved the staff. Sharon the administrator was awesome with the residents. Daddy loved her. And Ms [name removed] at the front desk was awesome. There was a problem once or twice with one of the staff but it was quickly taken care of. I was proud that my Daddy was there.

Highly recommend
What stuck out most about The Landings at Norcross was the bright and airy look to it. It is a friendly and warm atmosphere when you walk in. The staff at the front desk was very welcoming and the marketing director as well. The environment is not only meant to look warm and inviting but it does not look institutional in anyway. The food menu is pretty high in carbohydrates and we have spoken to the director about it - we understand that it can be difficult. I would recommend them to others looking.

Tour experience
We toured with The Landing and it was a very nice place. They did have a courtyard as well which was a big plus. The only downfall for us was the fact that it was mixed assisted living and memory care. The staff then have to crossover between levels of care and I think they are very different from each other. We wanted a place that only focused on memory care.

This Place is Awesome and I Would Trust The Landings With Any Family Member
The staff treated our family and loved one like we were part of their family. It was an awesome experience for us and my loved one! The meals always looked appetizing. The community had lots of activities for the residents to participate in if they would like to. The staff communication with the family was awesome! I can't say enough good about the community! The administrator, [name removed], and these other staff members: [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], and [name removed]are wonderful!

Not recommended for Alzheimers
I feel like this was a bait and switch form the management and how things were in the tour. It seems like there was a problem with retention and as this declined they were no longer able to care for my loved one or handle him and called the authorities. The staff and the managers just seem to all be very new. I feel like the memory care unit is okay they just are not suited to treat Alzheimer's.

Highly recommend
We chose The Landings because staff were very nice, attentive, and understanding of our situation. They really worked with us and we appreciated that. My mom really likes everyone who works here. The location is great and easy to get to. There are a lot of things around it shopping wise. Once covid us under control they are able to go out and do more activities such as go to games or see plays. The only complaint has been the food, she says it is bland so they could use improvement there. I would recommend.

Employees DO NOT RESPOND to residents & smells like urine & feces
I only had my mom in The Landings at Norcross for 2 months. There were many issues with this community but the most serious was the emergency call light. Either it was broken, rung to a different room, caregivers did not respond to it or lack/delayed of response (as long as 1.15 hrs). I filed a complaint with Bridge Senior Living, management company, and worked with my Ombudsman. I also filed a complaint with the HFR as my last resort thinking if they got involved, the issue would be fixed. Coincidently, a few days after I heard that the HFR Compliance Specialist called the Executive Director, I was given a 30 Day Notice because The Landings were not able to meet my needs....not my mother's needs (the resident) but my needs. The ED verbally gave me the 30 Day Notice, never written documentation. I have since moved my mother out of the facility. This is the most unprofessional company full of unkept promises who would rather kick out a resident versus fix the problem. Smells terrible!

highly recommend, a good fit for mom
We chose The Landings based on the size, staff to patient ratio, as well as it worked for us financially. I was satisfied with the staff when I first met them as well. The room sizes here are pretty big, she has a shared room but she still has privacy and has enough space to walk around and have all her furniture. I think for the price it is a great facility. They keep residents involved in many activities, during covid they were taking them on bus rides which was nice. It is smaller so they have time and ability to sit and spend time and get to know them. I would recommend to others looking.

Cute, Caring AL Community
I live in the area and pass by this community almost everyday. I don't have any relatives that live there but I have 3 friends that have placed their loved ones in the community and they are always raving about the great service provided by The Landings. They have told me placing them their was the BEST decision. Great activities throughout the day with personal care needs done in a timely manner. If the time comes when my mom needs assisted living, she will be moving at The Landings.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the Georgia regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about Georgia regulations for Assisted Living.
