My brother was warmly welcomed and he’s receiving the care he needs.
My brother was warmly welcomed into the community and he’s receiving the care he needs. He has significant health conditions and the staff is taking good care of him. He has repeatedly told me that he’s happy there and is glad he made the move to this community.

Our Experience
Staff at Charter Senior Living of Verona are friendly, but a few more activities would be welcome, such as afternoon exercise classes. I will say the food was better before charter senior living took over. It was about a 5 up until April when they replaced Cedarhurst Verona as management. Cedarhurst's restaurant style menu was a big reason to choose them.

We liked the experience at Cedarhurst of Verona. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great place for my dad. He enjoyed it up until the day he died. Overall the services cover everything the patient needs and they work well with the family.

Would recommend this facility for the value.
The food is a bright spot, especially with their new expanded, restaurant style menu. Their promise of this change was one big reason I chose Cedarhurst. The common interior areas can seem a bit dingy. This is a significant drawback. I would recommend them as a mid price range facility. There are fancier places but they are significantly more expensive.

Loved the Assisted Living!
We toured Cedarhurst of Verona during our search for a facility for our loved ones. We loved the Assisted Living side! They offered lots of activities and even had a movie theatre! We toured this facility twice and noticed lots of visitors and happy residents.

Great place for love one
Overall the facility is a very good place for a family member. The food is very good. Activities are also good. The only concern is the high turnover of aides. The rooms in memory care are large and spacious.

Homey atmosphere
Out of the others that I looked at, it has more of a homey, down to earth atmosphere. It does not have all of the glitz and glammer like a couple of the others that we looked at. Mom grew up on a farm so she was looking for more of a cozy atmosphere. I would recommend Cedarhurst of Verona to others looking.

Beware!
It hasn't been the best experience. This is because of the community and another outside agency. The community doesn't have a nurse of staff. They were just bought out. They are understaffed which is almost everywhere. We are unhappy with the experience provided so far.

Good experience
We chose Willow Pointe because of the value for the money and the amount of activities that they offer was good for what she wanted to do. The pricing was a little more straight forward in the beginning here as well rather than some of the others that we saw. The size is right for what we were looking for, it is a smaller community. The room sizes are very nice. I would recommend to others.

Consistently don't perform their paid-for duties. Don't hang up laundry for resident who can't do themself, run out of toilet paper often, don't always assist with functions they are being paid to do such as dress the resident, get them out of bed. Don't clean up bathroom messes timely. Management staff extremely disorganized. Need to request important things or needs multiple times.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the Wisconsin regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about Wisconsin regulations for Assisted Living.

A Place for Mom has scored Charter Senior Living of Verona 9.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
