It was an agonizing decision for us to place our mother in a memory care facility. Our first meeting with the director put us at ease. Being with her peers and enjoying the activities that she could participate in. Each and every one of the nurses, caregivers, and directors made her feel special and made us feel special too. They always welcomed us to come into the facility at any time and we never felt that we were unwanted. The facility itself has been renovated, painted, new flooring and furniture and is a bright and happy place. If there was any problems or we had any questions, they were fixed and answered in a prompt and timely manner. We came to love the staff in the short time that Mom was there and they grieved as we grieved when Mom passed. The food prepared by the chef is great, and my mother, a picky eater, enjoyed the meals and actually put on some weight when she was there. The facility is located in a small town that has a park across the street, that hosts a Saturday market which is also an attractive feature. In summary, if you are looking for a facility for your loved one, don’t hesitate to consider Avery Village as your choice.
