A very special place

Very homelike
When you walk in Arden Courts it feels very homelike. From the smell of fresh cookies in the lobby to the warm atmosphere in the houses staff are very nice and greet you with a smile and treat the residents Ike family. I am happy I get to come and visit.

Great experience
I had a family member that was only there for a short period of time. They were at the end their life and Arden courts with them in on hospice where they cared for him until the end I can’t thank them enough for their care and dedication

Creative and thoughtful
One of the things we love most about Arden Courts is all the themed porches throughout the community. Each one has its own unique feel and gives residents a comfortable place to relax, visit with family, and enjoy their surroundings. It's amazing to see how these spaces often spark memories and conversations.
We also appreciate that the activities are designed specifically for people living with memory loss. The staff does a wonderful job keeping residents engaged with fun, meaningful activities that match their abilities and interests. It's clear that a lot of thought goes into helping residents stay active, connected, and happy each day.

The staff at Arden Courts are incredibly patient, caring, and attentive. They treat residents with dignity and compassion, and their kindness shines through in every interaction. It's comforting to know our loved one is in such capable and caring hands.

Promised more then could deliver
Before move-in, staff assured us repeatedly they could redirect combative residents and arrange inpatient stays for medication adjustment. Neither happened. Instead they added drugs that worsened confusion and falling without helping behavior — then attributed the decline to disease progression. The inpatient option became "not that easy to arrange."
Detailed intake forms on food preferences are ignored. He couldn't get daily coffee unless he attended group activities.
Promised hourly checks, but camera footage showed 8-hour gaps with no one opening his door, 12+ hours between brief changes, and after a fall he lay on the floor calling for help for 90 minutes.
Tellingly, checks, bathing, brief changes and room cleaning by Arden Courts improved significantly once outside hospice was involved.
Some staff were genuinely skilled and he wasn't combative with them. But there weren't enough of them.
Fine for cooperative residents. Not great for behavioral symptoms.

Overall would recommend
I would rate them 5 stars from the time we spoke with Jen, everything went like clockwork. The accommodations were excellent, nice size room and the whole establishment is beautiful and gracious. We felt very comfortable leaving our loved one. Staff was most accommodating. My mother in law enjoyed every moment. They actually hated to see her go. Kudos to Arden. Wish we would've known about them sooner. Many thanks to Jennifer Hartley. Would most definitely use them again.

Would not recommend
We were not there long. Mom passed away after a month or two of their care. we were asked to buy extra items like toilet seat handles, etc., but they were left in her room and never installed. The director retired just as we were moving in and communication was very poor after that. We were not sent a bill, but we're later charged a late fee. Mom was a very private person, but she was put in an area where residents walked in and out of each other's rooms. (during our tour, we were shown a different wing, which was not nearly so chaotic) She did not feel comfortable enough to join others in the dining area so her meals were just dropped off and often they were things she could not manage such as uncut pieces of chicken. I spent an evening with mom shortly before her death when she was upset and in pain. The nurse couldn't get a good blood pressure so wouldn't give any pain meds. She just kept insisting mom just needed to poop. The bedside manner was more irritation than empathy.

A Wonderful Place for Family
We recently had a loved one in Arden Courts Towson, and as a family member, I truly appreciated the level of compassion and patience shown by the staff. They took the time to get to know each resident and treated them with dignity and respect.
The environment felt safe, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed for those with memory challenges. Communication with our family was consistent, and we always felt informed and supported.
It’s never an easy decision to place a loved one in memory care, but this team made the process much more comforting. I’m grateful for the care they provided.

We recently attended the holiday dinner at Arden Courts, and it was one of the most heartwarming experiences our family has had in a long time. The dinner brought residents and families together in a way that felt genuinely meaningful—not staged or rushed, but thoughtful and full of warmth.
One moment that especially stood out was seeing the Executive Director and Maintenance Director in the photo booth with residents, laughing and making memories right alongside everyone else. It spoke volumes about the culture there leadership that is present, approachable, and fully engaged in the community. We were also touched by how management sat with families during the holiday meal, taking time to connect, listen, and share in the celebration. Being there reminded us that Arden Courts is more than a facility it’s home. The love, care, and respect they show their residents is obvious in the small moments and the big ones. Thank you so much.

Christmas is hard but easier this year.
Visiting my mother at Arden Courts of Towson during the Christmas season was both emotional and deeply comforting. Her home environment was decorated so beautifully for the holidays, with clear thought and intention in every detail. You can feel the warmth the moment you walk in—nothing is done halfway, and it truly reflects a place that values dignity, comfort, and joy.
The Activities Department goes above and beyond with specialized programming, and it shows. My mom has really, truly benefited from the love, care, and attention she receives especially over the holiday seasons. It is hard to have Christmas without her at home this year, and that grief is real. But knowing she is so loved and so well cared for at Arden Courts has taken the edge off a little bit. We love the staff, and we are grateful for everything they do.

Friends Matter
We recently visited our friend at Arden Courts of Towson, and it was genuinely reassuring to see how well she has acclimated to the memory care community. Coming in during the evening, we were struck by how engaged and welcoming the environment felt and it meant a lot to see that management was still in the building, actively facilitating a lovely social for the ladies.
The gathering was thoughtfully arranged, with snacks and hydration available, along with a specialized social activity tailored to the specific neighborhood where our friend lives. It was clear this was not a “one-size-fits-all” approach, but something intentionally designed to meet the residents where they are. Most importantly, it was wonderful to see our friend comfortable, adjusted, and smilinghaving made connections and real friendships. We left feeling grateful for the warmth, structure, and genuine care that supports her quality of life every day.

Holliday Majic
During a recent visit with our mother at Arden Courts of Towson, we were deeply moved by the Marketing Director and Executive Director’s thoughtful attention to how meaningful it is to capture family moments in time. They created a Mrs. and Mr. Claus photo setting with a warmly lit fireplace backdrop, giving us a beautiful space to gather around our mom. It was the first time in more than three years that we had seen her laughing and genuinely joyful during a holiday celebration.
