Review for Arbor Hills Memory Care
Make yourself visible & show up for your loved ones! We picked this community because it was; well rated, was close, looked homey & was told the number of caregivers to residents was higher than it actually was. Turns out there is a lot of turnover. Not all caregivers are equal even though they're trained the same way That's been the biggest disappointment. A-lot care , others it's just a job. I will add there is a new executive director on board and things appear to be improving for the better. I'm excited to see where things go as it's noticeable! Based on what I've heard & seen, would not move my loved one yet. There are a lot of places worse. I will continue to be visible & give them the benefit.

My experience as my husband spent his last days
My husband was living his last days though I didn’t realize it; all the staff were warm and kind, trying to help. I was comforted by being among them more so than with family. It is difficult to find the correct words.

Highly recommend
Arbor Hills is just the nicest place and we have been so pleased with our experience. They were very comprehensive on our initial interview and we were so impressed that we did not even have to think about it, we went ahead and put our deposit down the same day that we visited. It just seemed like it was the best of the best and it has turned out to be just that. The communication has been awesome. The nurse calls me regularly with any updates that are very helpful for me to know. They also have a monthly calendar with all of the activities that are provided daily. When I stop by to visit they are doing exactly what is on the calendar so they really follow their program. We have been at 3 other facilities and we are happiest here. We would highly recommend them to others looking.

EXCELLENT CARE OF PATIENTS
I work for a Hospice Company and we have had patients at Arbor Hills .They have given excellent care to our patients and there family , The staff is amazing always keeping in touch with our team to let us know any change with our patient even minor . Everyone from the Administrator to the CNA's are always pleasant and enjoy there place of employment as it shows when talking to staff .I would recommend Arbor Hills to anyone looking for the best care possible for a Loved one

A Place to Call Home
Making decisions on care for your elderly love one can be difficult however working with the front office staff and especially the Director of Community Relations at Arbor Hills our family experience continues to be great! Immediately you get a sense of caring from all of your interactions with everyone. There are a lot of moving parts to the process however you are supported based on your circumstances. It feels like family. Transition is never easy, and to be honest, will not be perfect. That is where the front office do an amazing job of above and beyond. I felt a sense of connection and I think you would too. Give them a call, the campus is beautiful and the building interior feels like “home”! In a short time I can say I’m glad my love one transitioned to Arbor Hills.

A loving home
We are thrilled having Mother at Arbor Hills for the past 8 months. The entire staff is loving and respectful to all their residents. They have been unfailingly friendly to our family and are proactive in keeping us informed of any changes in Mother's condition. Arbor hills has proven to be a good spot for my beloved mother-in-law. From 24 hr. nursing care, respectful front desk staff, happy caregivers, good laundry service, frequent outings, nice TV/music, landscaping, the inner patio beauty, countless thoughtful elements of appropriate decor for this generation, very attractive furniture, sweet and varied activities, good food, and a very caring staff- we give it an A+ rating. Family owned for several decades, they demonstrate a true commitment to the specific needs of our memory care population. We’ve had experience with several other facilities caring for 2 other family members and this has been the best.

Happy Mom
My mother has been at Arbor Hills 4+ years. The staff has been very caring and loving to her and the other residence.
She is very happy at Arbor Hills. She participates in all aspects of what Arbor Hills has to offer. Several of the staff have been there for quite some time. Nursing staff is very competent, compassionate, and caring. You won't find better. The staff encourages you to discuss any needs or concerns and they are addressed immediately. I can sleep at night knowing my mother is in the best place to care for her.

My husband has been a resident of Arbor Hills for several years; he is confined to a wheelchair. The decision that a family member can no longer stay safely at home is very difficult. I visit Arbor Hills everyday, usually at dinner time. The staff is attentive and compassionate, and both the Executive Director and the Nursing Director are always receptive to any concerns I may have. I am comfortable with the care my husband receives. Memory care can be really hard, and Arbor Hills does a good job.

Arbor Hills/Plano was a wonderful experience.
My recent total positive experience with Arbor Hills(AH)/Plano ended with my mom’s passing (01/2018). She was a resident commencing in March 2017. During her time at AH she was treated with loving care, respect, dignity and always plenty of smiles. I can say the same for myself as I generally visited her three times weekly. I found AH to always be clean and bright. I liked the AH facility footprint including optional rooms i.e., places to go within the facility. Back in February 2017, I found the fixed rate quote provided to me to be competitive and acceptable.
From Reception to 24/7 Nursing to Caregivers to Administration to Housekeeping to Maintenance, all those we (mom and my family) encountered were people who, outside of AH, would be wonderful neighbors. But most importantly, they were there at AH for my mom daily, providing her with a genuine human touch.

Nursing home feel - Not very homey
While looking into some options for my love one, I found that this facility was not as homey as I would have liked it. It definitely had that nursing home feel. In their rooms they had hospital beds and it wasn’t as warm or inviting. The staff team there though seemed really nice. While we were touring the place we notice them helping the residents that could get out of their bed assisting them to get dressed and to get them out of their rooms. That part I liked about the place. If someone were to have more of a physical disability I would recommend this location. They reason why I didn’t move forward with them is because it was more of a nursing home facility.

Comfortable Staff!!
My loved one was recently in this community for a short respite stay and I have no complaints of how things went for her. The staff where always so helpful and I was comfortable with the care they had provided to her. She had no complaints about the meals and enjoyed participating in some of the activities from time to time. Overall we where very happy with her stay and thought they did everything they had promised us.

A Meeting At The Community

Amazing Memory Care Unit !!
The memory care service they provide at this community is outstanding. They work everyday one on one with my loved one to help improve her memory. They have amazing activities and techniques they offer to the residents to make sure they are staying busy and constantly improving their skills. Accentuating the positive
My mom has lived at Arbor Hills for 2 years now. Her medical care there has always been top notch, provided by some really special nurses. Caring for Alzheimer's patients takes a unique combination of angel and superhero.
There were some staffing transfers followed by some staff turnover. It got a bit wobbly for awhile, but that seems to have resolved. I like the direction things are going now! I see a lot more smiles, a lot of positive interaction between staff and patients, more friendship between patients, and overall I see a refreshed and warmer environment. As always, the nurses, care team, and the wonderful front desk ladies keep me updated on mom's status.
I met this week with the new managing director and the new director of nursing for a care plan review. I was impressed. Alzheimer's is relentless, and mom had an unpreventable fall, resulting in an ER visit for a bad skin tear on her arm. The Arbor Hills team were fantastic, their quick response to the fall and their follow-up care made a real difference for a fast recovery. We reassessed mom's situation in the meeting and I was given good ideas for changes to help mom cope. (Mom is feisty)
It was a tough day when we realized we could no longer take care of mom without a lot of help. I know she is being looked after by people who care.

5 Stars All The Way!!
The tour guide was very knowledgeable. All of my questions and concerns were answered. The community was clean and organized. Some activities they offered were art classes, cooking classes, and brain fitness. They have different available meal plans to best fit the needs of the residents. I would recommend a tour of the community to friends and family.
