I think a lot of this had to do with my mom's dementia getting a little worse, but the nursing staff or aids certainly don't know how to deal with any kind of sickness. This place really is more of a place for independent living and senior living, but when it comes time to have extra care for dementia or Alzheimer's type people, they really are not qualified.\n\nThe cleanliness was perfect. floors were always clean. cleaning staff for the rooms were punctual and thorough. Dining hall and gathering rooms were always clean and neat.\n\nMost of the staff was pretty good and friendly, but there's always one or two people that seem to ruin it! A couple aides were just grumps and should not be in the type of place to have seniors feel more comfortable. Particularly the head health nurse. She was incredibly crabby and mood and always felt like she was put up upon if you asked her a simple question.\n\nI couldn't decide whether to put a three or four I can truthfully say I was a little disappointed in the care and maybe that is because I misunderstood what the care level intentions were at the beginning. I think Amber Park is a great place for a senior or independent living but if you need any kind of extra help, they are definitely not qualified to deal with dementia type people, nor do they even really try to want to understand what kind of issues dementia people go through. They just don't seem very qualified for any kind of extra care\n\nThe meals were fine, but not super healthy. Food seemed very low quality. Some aids or some exercise activities or any other kind of activities to keep the senior mind active. I thought it was a little overpriced, considering a lot of the promised help that my mom was supposed to get. \n\nOverall, I would not suggest Amber Park as a place for anyone who is needing extra care such as dementia or Alzheimer's help or any type of cognitive assistance. This place is really meant for senior living or independent living, but I really would not call it assisted-living because they really did not do anything to help my mom deal with some of the dementia type issues. Or Cognitive issues she had with some of the aides and nursing staff. They really had no clue what dementia and Alzheimer Patients go through.
