The overall feeling of the facility is that it is very institutional and not homey. I'd love to see residents' artwork on the walls, or other things that would brighten up the living space. I understand that carpets are not practical, but there has to be some way to brighten things up.

The overall feeling of the facility is that it is very institutional and not homey. I'd love to see residents' artwork on the walls, or other things that would brighten up the living space. I understand that carpets are not practical, but there has to be some way to brighten things up. Perhaps a nice color of paint on the walls? Some murals? Music playing? Pictures on the walls depicting things from when residents were children? How about a partnership with some local schools where kids can come read to residents (or vice-versa)?

My dad is doing well at Allegria at the Oaks. Definitely a good value for the money. Reasonable rates. Good team. Been there the whole time he has. They could offer more variety on the menu.

Horrible
If I could give 0 stars, I would. My mother was a resident at this facility for about a year and a half. The facility evicted her for her "behaviors" (she has dementia). She has exhibited NO behaviors since leaving Allegria. At first I was angry, but now I am so grateful. When I brought my mom home, I discovered she had horrible toenail fungus. I took her to the podiatrist and they said that it took well over a year to progress to the point it was. When I questioned the facility about her seeing a podiatrist, they claimed she did a few months prior, on a date when my mom was NOT at the facility. Medicare was billed and I had to report the podiatrist and the facility for Medicare fraud. I would have never checked my mom's feet, I mean who would? You are paying to make sure your loved one is taken care of when they are at their most vulnerable. In addition, my mom's engagement ring was stolen while she was there.

Perfect for mom!
Staff appears to be shorthanded at this time; there is quite the rotation of the room aids, but the kitchen staff and mgmt. have been consistent thru this first year. I really cannot complain about room size/amenities. Mom is in a shared room which is way different than a single private room. The floors are vinyl tile vs carpet, thus very clean. Rooms/floors are cleaned on a daily basis. The bed mattresses was insufficient for mom as she felt every spring therefore purchased her a "real" mattress (serta), and a mattress bag. She never looked back. Lastly, the staff is friendly, gets everyone involved, are aware of particulars mom needs (aware she wears hrg aids). There are moments I have sat with staff and had decent conversations, so they know they are not just a number, and are much appreciated by mom and the family.

Would not recommend the memory care unit
Moved my family member to the memory care unit and was the biggest mistake I made. There is very little care. They sit them in front of a television all day. Family member passed away there. Luckily they were in hospice care, because they got no extra care from the staff. Not one word from them except get her stuff cleaned out 2 days after passing. Most of the things she had weren't even theirs. No one from the staff even sent condolence after they passed. Do not put your family member in their memory care unit

Overall, A Great Place to Go
I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The communication with the staff was really good if we had questions or concerns about our friend. My friend had made some complaints about the food not being to their liking and didn't elaborate any further than that.

Great Value for the Care Provided
I've had very good communication with Allegria. Their team has kept me updated on everything that's going on with my famly member. Whenever I go in, it always looks really clean. Initially we had some issues with the care, although they did get that resolved pretty quickly. And ultimately she seems happy there and is setting in pretty quickly. We've been very pleased with how reasonably priced they are for the good care they provide.

Great experience with the memory care unit
We chose Allegria at The Oaks because they were very helpful, honest, and upfront about the care that they provided and the cost. They really worked with us in terms of transporting mom from her previous facility to Allegria. They have been excellent with communication especially with us not being able to go in. If I need an update I email them or give them a call and they are great with response time. They do offer shared rooms as well that cuts down on the cost tremendously. The room are very nice and there is privacy inside the shared rooms with a room divider. The residents do not spend a lot of times in their rooms, the majority of the day they are out doing things in the common areas.

Independent Assisted Living in a Suburbian Setting
Moved my father to Allegria at the Oaks almost 2 months ago and we have seen a big improvement with his social skills and health since then. He lived alone for over 3 years, since my mother had died, and now, he's eating 3 meals a day again, socializing again, and enjoying life. He has dementia, but is able to take care of his personal needs. He's in the Independent Living area, so I cannot comment on the Memory Care area. Of all the places we searched for, this is the only one that he could afford and the area is very suburban and not like living in an institution. Whenever I needed something, the Maintenance Team took care of his needs and the Nursing Staff is kind. The administration team is very friendly and helpful when I ask dumb questions (it's not like I've done this before). Thank you to the staff for taking great care of dad.

New move in
Contacted Allegria because they were recommended by another facility as being affordable. They are a more reasonable place to move my Aunt into. They made the process very easy. [name removed] handled everything professionally and worked with us to move my Aunt quickly. She had to leave a not great other facility. They don't have a lot of extra fees like every other place seems to have. The food is good and the care is exceptional. They go above and beyond in every area. Cannot recommend them any higher. Pleasure to deal with!
