Not anyplace I would want for my mom
I was less than impressed with my recent tour of this facility. The building itself appears to need lots of repairs, and the patients didn't seem very happy. (Most of them were asleep in the lobby while I was there.) The staff I encountered were not particularly friendly, and were clearly annoyed with one resident in particular who seemed to be having a hard time getting up out of his chair. The marketing lady that did my tour wouldn't tell me what the prices were, and kept pressuring me to sign a contract right then and there . I would not consider this facility for a loved one.

Depressing place
I toured this facility looking for a safe place to move my mom after her recent stroke. The outside of the building was falling apart and dirty. The lady who was supposed to do my tour apparently "forgot" about it and had to rush over and meet me. The staff I met appeared very stressed out, and one employee was very loud and clearly frustrated with one of the patients during my tour. The lady that did my tour was evasive about what it would cost for my mom to live there and I never really got a firm answer. The whole time I was there, the patients just set in the lobby in chairs, and half of them were asleep. It was a very depressing atmosphere. I chose another location for my mom, and I'm glad I didn't spend any more time here.

Very disappointing
I toured this facility looking for a place for my mother. It was nothing like the pictures or the description showed. The building was falling apart on the outside, and I waited at the front door for several minutes before anyone would let me in. I saw several of the patients just setting around and most of them were asleep in the lobby. One of the caregivers appeared to be frustrated with another patient setting in the dining area and was quite loud during my tour. Overall the staff looked stressed and the patients didn't seem very happy. I decided to continue looking and found another facility where my mom is now very happy.

Nice facility. However, compared to the other facilities we toured, this facility didn’t seem to have as many structured activities to keep the residents engaged. This is our opinion based on one visit. For an assisted living facility, they offer a very secure campus that other assisted living facilities do not offer. Just not the right fit for our family.

Today was the first chance I got to visit with [Removed]. Her room is very nice. All the personnel was very helpful in getting me in and out and directing me to her room. I have had other neighbors and friend live here, but it has been a while. But, found they are still the same friendly facility.

Very Pleased with This Community
Everything is working out very well for my grandmother with her move to this community. I'am very comfortable with her move her. She is safe, and in good hands. They have a great staff, they have been very friendly. They helped her get adjusted to the community. She is doing great, and all is well. This is a community I would recommend, it has worked out well for us.

Nice place!
Everything is going well with mom. She is getting involved with some of the activities. It just seems like they don't have enough staff for the community. Maybe that is how most of them are though.

Intimate size
Elder care is very much a personal choice. Our family chose Sterling house primarily due to the small intimate size of the facility. Many larger facilities rotate their staff to different wings/shifts. Stability of the staff to resident is important to Dad. Every person we spoke to gave high ratings to Sterling House.

We came for a tour, we didn't stay long.
We came for a tour, we didn't stay long. When you walked in the door they had six or eight residents just sitting on sofas. It reeked of urine, and the rooms were really small. I asked if they would paint before someone moved in and they said no. It wasn't for us.

Nice place, overall
Overall we've been very pleased with how things have gone with Sterling House. It's a nice looking, clean, well kept community. They also do a great job the food! The meals are well balanced, and they have a lot of variety. For the most part the staff do an excellent job. The staff that work one on one with the patients do a tremendous job, they really seem to go out of their way to do little things for the residents to help them settle in. We did have an issue with one staff member being very unprofessional and rude to a family member who was visiting.
