Can't help to become like family
Windward Palms the food wasn't that good. We moved to the Landings at Gentry Park in Orlando to be close to be close to our son 5 minutes away. The facility is only 1 year old. It's beautiful, The food is very good. We have probably the nicest apt we ever had. 12 ft high ceilings a big beautiful full kitchen a full size washer and dryer in the apt. The place is not cheap fortunately I could afford it Look up this place on the internet . You get in this case what you pay for
The Windwood wasn't exactly cheap. The food wasn't that good.(the overall experience was good as the people and the staff were friendly and the staff was pretty good. They seem to have difficulty keeping dining room staff. They serve too much fried foods. I asked the chef if we could yogurt at breakfast he said no. Too much pasta. The place is clean. The facility should have 2 elevators Maintenance staff is very good. Overall it's fair. Nothing is outstanding. Activities are not well attended

Wonderful Option
I recently moved my 92 year old dad here. After so many visit around town we settled on a ground floor one bedroom. The price was so affordable and the facility clean and friendly. He loves his apartment and the staff and the food is pretty good! Most of all they are responsive and willing to jump through hoops for the seniors living there. I am happy.

Review for Windward Palms
We picked this community, because of the friendliness and accommodation of the staff. And the grounds were great to see via virtual tour/ phone and in person. They are caring, Reliable people in a nicely updated community building. The community is a perfect size and offers what you want and you chose what to participate in. This place looks to be very well cared for and updated regularly. The food was also very well received by my family member. The dining area is nice and open and there is wonderful variety in the menu. The people working here actually do feel like family members. They have a job to focus on but also clearly care about the residences. The residents appear to be a nice wide range or people and personalities that make it welcoming.

Would Definitely Recommend
It is truly a hidden gem. They really make you feel welcomed and matter. As a new family coming in, they are very attentive. They take the time to sit down and listen. It seems like they really care. Everyone seems to go the extra mile for my loved one. The place is clean, the service is fantastic. You can trust them there with your parents.

Extremely Friendly Staff
Overall this is a great community. They are updating the facility right now. The biggest thing is the food it is just mediocre. They have activities like outings to shopping centers and then they have planed activities like dollar tree. They have entertainment that comes in at least once a week, cards, arts and crafts and more. They are also installing a movie theater with movie seats and more for the residents right now.

Our tour experience
Our family had an in person tour and the community was nice, but for myself it just did not seem like it was going to be a good comfortable fit. The dining room seemed to be out there in the middle of everyone coming and going, and the location was just to far away.

Windward palms may be an average choice
We chose Windward Palms at the time because it was narrowed down to 3 locations and they gave us a deal that if we signed up by end of the week they would waive move in feed. They also had very good amenities that we liked as well. He is in the larger of the 2 studios, they have a huge variety on apartment sizes. I have never eaten here myself, but my father is not a big fan of the food. I would recommend the community, but they would need to the pros and cons. They had an amazing leasing agent but she left a couple of months ago. They do have a roach problem here, they have someone come in once a month to spray and recently more like once a week, I think this is due to the food being delivered to the rooms. They have a very unusual amenity, they have a program where if you sign up and make a request, each one of their properties (they have about 300) has 2 rooms that lets other people from the other properties for 7 days come and stay at no additional cost.

Highly dissatisfied
The quality of the food has gone down, our loved one never had blood pressure or heart problems, but now due to the amount of processed foods she is now being treated for high blood pressure. We have been hung up on a few times when we call asking about our loved one and her quality of care. They have cut back on the entertainment and activities due to COVID which they are still being charged for. They do have life alert buttons, but there is no medical staff and after 7pm they just to have to call 911.

My father lived at Windward Palms for 3 years and just moved out to be closer to family. He enjoyed poker with friends, evening entertainment and trips to the casino. The place is clean with a beautifully renovated dining room. The part my father will miss most is the staff. Everyone was so friendly and they truly care about the residents. The General Manager, [name removed] was very kind and took the time to wish my father well in his new home. Thank you.

I have nothing but good words about this place! My parents have chosen this place after just seeing it once. They are extremely happy after leaving there for 3 month. I visit them twice a week at least and can’t say enough about it, had lunch a few times already and food is great!

Old, short staffed, awful food & service
My 84 year old mother took it upon herself to sign a 6 month lease in this horrific place. She moved in there on [date removed], and within days, she was crying and asking me to come get her.
The facility and her apartment is a old and dingy, there aren’t very many people living there. They are extremely short staffed. The other day, they made her wait an hour to take her order for a sandwich.
She had only been there 1 week when she informed [name removed], the General Manager that she was probably moving out. Yesterday, [date removed], I notified [name removed] that my sister that lives about a mile from there will be moving to Arizona. Therefore, my mother won’t have any family in the area and for that reason, and the fact that she is miserable there and complains that the food is awful, I have to move her closer to where I live and work. He said he didn’t care, and said she will be held responsible for paying all 6 months of the lease.
Her last day there will be this Friday, [date removed], 2 weeks after after her move-in date. He was very rude and disrespectful when my mother asked him to email a copy of HER lease to me and her attorney. He refused, and demanded to see my power of attorney before he would email anything. IT’S HER LEASE AND HE REFUSED TO EMAIL IT FOR HER. She is like a hostage there. She can’t even get to her physical therapy appointments because she has to give them 3 days notice to get a ride there.
Please do let your loved one move in there. You, and they will regret it.

Not a place for mom.
When my parents moved in August of 2016 the place was nice. It has gone downhill. Manager doesn't return calls. When complaints are expressed, [name removed] the general managers response is what can I do about it. Phone calls not returned. Food was good. Now it is poor. Service of food horrible. My parents what 45 minutes or more to get lunch. Elevator has broken down a number of times. Think twice before selecting this place.

Did Not Have To Tour Any Other Communities
My sister is doing really good since moving here no comparison to the other place she had been at. She is very active making friends and doing the activities. The food is way better than what she had prior to where she was. The staff is so friendly and nice here very helpful if needed. I would recommend this community.
