Caring staff.
The friendliness of the staff gets a 5+. Mom was at Expressions for about a year, overall the experience was very good but I cannot say enough about the staff that cared for her. They want above and beyond all expectations', I miss them all and would absolutely recommend them to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

When you first walk in to White River Memory Care, your first impression is that you've stepped into someone's home. Throughout the building you'll find spacious living and dining rooms, comfortable chairs, and interesting items to touch, pick up, or even take back to their apartments. There are no off-limits areas - residents are free to walk around the halls, socialize in the community areas, or even stroll around the secure outdoor walking path.
Individuals with dementia are soothed by consistency and predictability. That's why meals and activities are scheduled at regular times, and light and noise levels are maintained for the time of day. The importance of consistency is an important reason why we encourage families to decorate their apartment with personal furniture and treasures.
Staff members are specifically trained in caring for those with Alzheimer's, and know how to intervene appropriately when needed. We staff according to individual residents' needs, and welcome help and interaction from family members.

Evicted a 74-year-old with Dementia
PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!!!!
My mom was a resident there when it was doing business as a Living Court assisted-living facility, she’s lived there for four years until she was kicked out on [date removed].
We got a phone call Wednesday that my mom needed to be seen at the ER to make sure she didn’t have a urinary tract infection due to her memory getting worse and she wandered off the property.
The Executive Director [name removed] informed us that she would not be able to stay there unless she had someone there to be with her 24 hours a day at our expense. When we informed her there was no money for that type of care the facility handed me her meds and told her she was not allowed back and I had to take her with me.
To be honest, this was her third time wandering off the property. She was evicted without a 30-day notice. She was entitled to a three-day notice of eviction so the family and the facility could put together a care to make sure she was safe.,

Wouldn't put anyone I loved there
The food 7 days a week is horrible. I go to visit a family member in the morning. Can't find 1 staff member. They are getting residents out of bed and they are soaked from head to toe in urine and feces. The person in charge of handing out meds is late and had to be woken up from home to come out and pass medications to residents. The new nurse, [name removed], can not be reached by phone. Please don't put anyone you care about here.

Caring staff.

Review for Expressions at Enumclaw
It was a good experience. I wish there had been more activities for my dad, but he also wasn't able to do a whole lot so it was okay. The staff that worked closely with the residents were fantastic!

Would not recommend
If we could give the 1 ratings a 0 we would. Why 0? Because 1 is too kind. They took [amount removed]. of dad's money who was only there 18 days. He contracted covid while there and then they put him in the psych ward. He died 6 weeks later. Not a good experience at all. It really came down to their total lack of communication. I hope they changed director and the head nurse. Otherwise, the rest of the staff were kind and it was very clean.

Hopeful for the Future
We have only seen some coloring pages for the residents to participate in for activities. The aides are good and friendly. The new administrative director isn't willing to listen fully to the family's concerns. They are in a transition phase.
I would make sure you do and in-depth tour, and make sure they are showing you what they are telling you on the tour.
The room, housekeeping, meals, laundry, and utilities are included in the monthly fee. Some of my loved one's clothing has gone missing, due to the folding is all completed with all the resident's laundry at once.

Memory care without behavioral issues
The memory care is great for individuals without behavioral issues, if there are any type of aggression issues with the residents, they do not deal with that well. I would definitely recommend for memory care individuals who do not have those aggression problems.

I really liked Expressions at Enumclaw.
I toured here when looking. I really liked Expressions at Enumclaw. They were even going to be less expensive. However, they had a lot of women here, and I wanted dad to have some guys to socialize with.

We liked them when we toured. They were very comparable to the place we chose. The main reason we chose the other dedicated memory care community was that it was closer to where we lived. This was definitely in the running though. A very nice place.
