Valley Terrace of Owatonna is an assisted living community located in the heart of Owatonna, MN. Our assisted living facility is one of the finest in the area because we specifically work with residents who have dementia, Alzheimer's disease or are simply bedridden and need a little extra care. We customize a resident's experience with us depending on their current state of health. We pride ourselves in allowing each resident to be their own individual and to retain their privacy while living in the community. Not what we were looking for...
The Valleyview felt like it would be the kind of place where they would just lock up my father in his room and not check on him often. Almost like he would be forgotten. It was not an open atmosphere, they do check on their residents, but it just felt like one of those places. It was not a good fit.

Nice place, not a great fit for us
Overall I think they did a good job here. The staff were all very friendly, and they did what they needed to do when looking after the residents. Unfortunately this community didn't end up being a good fit for my loved one, he wasn't quite ready for this level of care.

We visited this facility on 8/26. This not the type of care we had envisioned for ourselves (assisted living vs. independent living). For K the facility was dark. For both of us the room sizes were small.
