Thirwood Place
After visiting so many facilities on Cape Cod, I finally found the place to call home. I love it here. Thirwood Place is owned privately. I think that may be the difference. Thirwood Place is a complete senior facility. There is not one thing they have not considered. Everyone here is just as happy as I am. The food is outrageously delicious. What more can I say. Come visit us. The staff members are always very helpful and friendly. From my first day everyone remembered my name. An amazing fete. The concerts are popular and well attended. Tonight we dined on shrimp cocktail, a delicious home made chicken soup with dumplings. Entrees were fish and chips, chicken with a wonderful caper sauce and marinated grilled flank steak; broiled scrod, angus beef patty or a vegetarian plate. There is always a choice of desserts ~ I chose the cannoli. I have not attended any activities yet, but everyone raves about the fun.

Thirwood Place is a gem for the “good life”.
Thirwood Place is a beautifully furnished space with apartments full of light and room to set up your new home. Clean with patios or balconies for your personal outdoor space. Pets are allowed. A huge plus for me and a game changer.
Many activities from musical performances, to lectures, movies, bingo and card games and more. An indoor pool with carefully monitored water aerobics, exercise classes, and hot tub. Excellent restaurant quality dinners six nights a week plus Sunday brunch. Casual lunches and
Continental breakfast items are available in the Country Store six days a week. No reason to
go out but small bus and van services are available for trips to local stores and for doctor appointments. Weekly housekeeping services in our apartments make life easier.
I’ve met only friendly residents from their late 70’s to 103. We all have many shared life experiences and conversation happens easily. And friendships are many. I’m glad that I was able to come to Thirwood.

A year later I know all the Nooks and crannies....
Thirwood Place trains their employees to operate from a place of kindness. When in doubt, they are to ask the question: What more would I want for my parent?
This is demonstrated by the gardening crew and maintenance workers all the way to the senior administration.
Looked at dozens of places This is far and away superior.

Our decision to move to Thirwood--8 months later
We are happy residents of Thirwood Place. It was a huge risk--deciding 8 months ago to leave the home of our dreams--saturated with neighborhood, community, & family memories.
We made the difficult choice to pull up roots and move to a retirement community after considering different options. Moving at this stage of life, we're both 80, is a challenging transition on many levels. It represents a fundamental shift in how we live and how much energy we need to spend maintaining a home and caring for all the overhead we have accumulated. It means severe downsizing--a process that is both exhausting and freeing. We think of it as paying forward--doing these necessary things now so our children won't be burdened with it later. The Thirwood marketing team is resourceful, competent, and patient. After moving here, we've discovered they are the tip of the iceberg. The executive leadership has built a culture of excellence throughout the organization.

Where neighbors become family!
If you are looking for a place where neighbors become family, Thirwood is it. Each person here has a story. For me, they are shared over dinner where I have the opportunity to dine with different people over a delicious 5 course dinner. A friend once told me not too long ago, “Don’t let the old lady in”. During the month I have lived here, I haven’t found anyone who has!
There are daily activities that will keep you as busy as you want to be. Whatever your interest, there will be an activity for you.
And last, I want to commend the staff. They are top notch and work seamlessly to meet everyone's needs. They call each of us by name and treat us like family. They care! If you decide to join this community, you won't be disappointed.

2.5 years and going strong
My mom has lived at Thirwood place for 2.5 years and absolutely loves it as do we. The staff is extremely caring and very concerned about every resident.
The food is always on point and offers an array of choices that will please all diners. The desserts cannot be missed. They are delicious! We have dined with Mom numerous times and have always enjoyed the meals.
My Mom has been very pleased with the entertainment options available on a daily basis. It keeps her involved and active with the friends she has made since moving. She throughly enjoys the music, special holiday events and creative activities.
We would like to give a shoutout to the entire staff! They are wonderful to all the residents and the personal touch given to my Mom does not go unnoticed. You are true gems. We have noticed a huge difference in my Mom’s contentment and happiness since moving to Thirwood Place. Thank you for all you do!

Friendly & Clean
My family and I can’t say enough good things about Thirwood. My grandparents moved back to the Cape From
Florida to be closer to family. It was a hard decision for them to move back north (especially the cold) but finding Thirwood made my grandparents feel comfortable with the move. The staff is friendly and attentive and the facilities are very nice, updated and clean. Plenty of activities to keep you busy and a great pool! The grounds are well kept and a nice serene place for walking outdoors in any season. Easily accessible and friendly for visitors too! When my grandfather passed away the residents and staff went out of their way to make sure my grandmother was taken care of and never alone. She has made so many new friends and is always laughing and sharing stories! I’m really happy we chose Thirwood and seeing how comfortable my grandmother is, makes it all worth while. Look no further, you found the right place!!

Look no further. It gets no better than Thirwood Place!
I cannot recommend Thirwood Place more highly. My mom and I constantly talk about the kindness. The residents have a large say in how it is organized and what services, activities, schedules are both provided and timed. The leadership operates from a position of "what would I want for my Mom." The staff is available to change lightbulbs, put up more safety bars, pick some flowers and bring them inside just because it makes you smile. They offer the usual transportation rides to medical appointments. But again, go above and beyond. We are very grateful that mom's previous facility turned out to be such a terrible experience, because it led us to Thirwood Place. They also have a group of Resident Ambassadors that help the newcomers get acquainted. They don't just reach out once, they stay on it until they know that you are both comfortable and have made friends. This is an incredible organization. My mom has now completed three months there and I believe that we are over the "honeymoon period." Again, I cannot recommend Thirwood Place more highly!

Seriously a 5 star for all of them. Very pleased with everything! What has made it such a great experience so far is The varied style of the apartments, the meals, the activities, and the very responsive and proactive staff. We looked at several before deciding on Thirwood and based on the experience we have had so far, we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

Certainly would recommend
Thirwood Place is very nice, and the staff members are all quite friendly. Compared to the previous community I was at the food here would be a 10, its still not that home cooked food but overall pretty good. They do have some activities, but I wish they had more meet and greet stuff so I could get to know the other residents more. They do have painting and wine nights which is helpful. I have a lovely two-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen, washer and dryer a bath and a half and a nice deck.

I highly recommend it
I am pleased with Thirdwood Place. They seem to managing her care well such as her medicine and her food. She says the staff are pleasant and they are responsive whenever I call with questions and seem to be efficient. The only issue if she needs memory care ever they do not provide that type of care here. She has a 1 bedroom apartment that we furnished and I like it. She loves it and thinks the food is good, it is healthy, low sodium food and they get 3 meals a day. She is in a place that is the best fit for her. They are very careful with their covid protocols, they had no covid cases. They have opened up the dining room but they do not allowing guests to dine yet. It is a beautiful facility with awesome landscape and it is very safe and well maintained. I would recommend to others looking.

Good fit for mom
We chose Thirwood Place because my mom really liked the overall feel of this facility and thought it suited her best. The apartment sizes here are great and spacious. She is on the 1st floor and she has a door to a patio and some have a door to a porch, so they all have access to be outside which is really nice. My mom likes it here and I would definitely recommend.

Friendly Community and Nice Place to Live
It's difficult to rate during the pandemic, but all the areas I've been exposed to, including the actual apartment for move-in, were very very nice. I really like the look and feel of the place. The staff and few residents I met, as well as the security guard at the gate, are very nice people. The staff is very helpful. My loved ones say they're well cared for. The cafeteria is opening soon, activities are starting to ramp up, and visitation will be opened up soon. I've had to schedule visits in a model apartment due to Covid up until now. There are lots of common areas that are comfortably set up with couches and a fireplace, so they can sit and chat with their masks on. For people who aren't super mobile or adventurous, it creates social opportunities and gets them out of their apartments for a minute. Outdoors is a nice grassy area. It's a pet friendly community, and one of the residents brings his dog around to visit and chat.

Exceptionally Clean and Friendly
Phenomenal place, I can't say enough good things about Thirwood Place. They are exceptionally clean and exceptionally friendly. I looked at 5 places in my search and I feel the price is very comparable. My brother has only been there six weeks so with the Covid-19 quarantine we have not been able to see or do much in regards to activities.
