Review for The Preserve at Palm-Aire
Everything was near perfect. My mother had an issue with understanding the staff. My mother was hard of hearing. Most staffers were happy but spoke fast and with an accent. She complained she could not understand most of her helper and it really frustrated her. We are upstate New Yorkers and haven't had much experience interacting with other nationalities

Preserve at Palm-Aire
We have since moved Mom from this facility about a year ago.
Numerous items were stolen from her room, and one of the staff members was extremely rude to our family.
The food is not the best quality, but it was adequate.
The apartments are enormous value for the money, best price around for sure.
This was a great placement for my mother at first, but slowly the quality of this place declined. I would still highly recommend for someone who is on a tight budget, and able to still cook for themselves so that when the daily menu doesn't suit, they may cook an alternative meal in the great kitchens.

Wonderful place for your loved one
The staff is very caring, I feel he has received excellent care, they are always cleaning, and for the care and amenities I feel the price is a fair price. I have several friends with family in this facility.

overall great place and terrific value for the money
Some updating needs to occur with the elevators and pool area. Otherwise the area is very clean.
The people are all very kind.
The staff are very attentive. I love the doctor/nurse/PT staff.
They could really improved on the food.
Activities have improved greatly. I feel seasonally it diminishes some in the summer.
The one thing I wish they would also try to motive would be an established walking path for seniors.
The value is here. It is affordable and the apartments are great. The people are truly caring and are lovely.
My parents love it here.

Review for The Preserve at Palm-Aire
I absolutely would not recommend to others.
1. My biggest concern is they constantly have multiple elevators out at a time. This is a safety issue that is very concerning.
2. The restaurant food is horrible, since she moved in the meal quality has deteriorated and the portions have gone down significantly.
3. There is no control over their staff of who has keys to the residents apartments and that is very concerning.
4. They have had to close the restaurant on more than one occasion because did not pass health inspections.
5. I have on many occasions walked through the front door in the evenings without registering when there was no one at the front desk or even when there was, they never asked who I was or why I was just walking in. That is concerning that anyone can just walk in and head to the apartments.
6. Based on the contract there are designated smoking areas, however management has allowed one specific resident to smoke in her apartment, which is against policy and a safety concern. Management has told the residence on the floor for months they were going to do something about it, but the lady still continues to smoke like a chimney, the halls real of smoke, there are people that have health issues that this is impacting, yet it is still allowed.
8. The doggie park is a hazard, they now it about every two weeks and is full of mud and uneven which is unsafe.
9. At the residence monthly meetings the above issues get brought up every month and the management does nothing.

Place was fantastic! Did not choose wanted a place closer to me.
Would recommend you all do actual site visits to the two Pacifica locations as the exterior of those two locations were disgusting with mold and mildew. Gutters and downpouts were missing, several screens and railings on balconies were missing. These exterior items are what prompted me to cancel both tours.

This is my opinion, but I would have to give all the overall ratings a 4 and if there was a category for management I would have to give them a 3. Their is very little direct interfacing with the residents that than in meetings

Our Experience

Disappointed
My sister and I had to quickly move my ailing mother into assisted living with promises of therapy, medications, and entertainment. Instead she is stuck in an apartment with no balcony 200 yards from anything. If something were to happen God knows. The prices are obsene, and the medical staff excluding a nurse or two are terrible. Look elsewhere please

There is a lack of communication from the staff.
Things were better when I first moved in.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The drivers will do special favors for you, like taking you to the post office or bank. Housekeeping is once per week. It's adequate, but not too thorough. They will call your family if they have any concerns about you or if you are taken to the hospital. The food is a constant source of discussion. Some residents love it, some hate it. I'm kind of neutral. The move in process was good. Overall, I'm very happy here.

Definitely recommended
Everyone has been super friendly and helpful. They seem to know most everyone by name, which provides a very homey feel. The communication has been good. We are able to reach someone when needed and they call us with updates, not just urgent situations. The move in was super smooth. We used the moving company recommended by Palm Aire and I highly recommend that. They are familiar with the grounds and know how to work with the older population. My dad really likes the meals. Overall, I would definitely recommend Palm Aire for assisted living.

Not a good experience
The facility is not a good choice for a person who needs a higher level of hands on care. Nursing/ care staff is difficult to work with in solving problems. May be okay if someone is fairly independent. I would not recommend the facility.

Overall a wonderful facility, even though some of the staff could have better attitudes
The majority of the staff at The Preserve at Palm Aire are very friendly and kind. It's the staff in the dining room that are not very kind or friendly. The servers I have had trouble with and their bad attitude, and then how long they take to serve the meals. All in all, I would recommend The Preserve at Palm Aire. It's overall a very good operation.

Needs Some Attention
My loved one is currently a resident at The Preserve at Palm-Aire and the experience has been okay/fair so far. They tell you anything to get you in there. The food is not the best and they are short staffed in the dining room. The meals need help for sure! Everyone complains about the food. They are so short staffed that one night they closed the restaurant The housekeeping is disconnected and not quality. However, this facility is close to my home so my loved one is staying here.

Home, Sweet Home
I am very happy living here. With 30 acres and lots of mature trees, 3 ponds with fountains, fully equipped apartments, and good food. Also very friendly personnel. Plus lots of activities, I really enjoy it here. Plus, none of the hectic and noise you have in Dade or Broward. If you are looking for peace and quiet and lots of nature, then definitely yes. Transportation to doctors appointments, grocery shopping, and outings is provided.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. The apartments are nice. The residents are diverse and friendly. There are actually a good number of men. The price is reasonable for what you get. My mother is happy there, and she has made many friends. She has had no complaints.
