Make sure all the staff folks knows what's going on, follow up on them because they do not communicate with each other very well, the administration staff doesn't follow up on complaints, the medical treatment takes 3-4 times longer than a visit to a doctor. A doctor and Psychiatrist may be on staff but are not readily available to see residents. A psychiatrist is not the same as a psychologist available to help residents cope with their new environment. A psychiatrist is not necessary unless you want your loved one to have new drugs to cope with their new environment. Which is not a good thing. Aides don't always follow instructions concerning a residents needs or abilities. I'm constantly following up on the to do what needs to be done.
