Warm and inviting
My first impression was wonderful, I was greeting by friendly informative staff, it smelled wonderful and very clean. The residents were doing activities and lots of smiles. The room was spacious, it felt like a safe environment.

Thinking of placing parents
I went to go tour the facility before Thanksgiving. My purpose was to go and check out the place. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the staff and I asked about the facility. The staff were pleasant and the atmosphere was calm and inviting. I toured the apartments to see what type of space is provided for the residents. The model apartment has a very nice set up, and I can see my parents maybe living there.

Great place for mom
The Jasper at Mansfield provides a safe, caring, supportive environment for mom. They provide good food and fun activities. From the administrators to the caregivers, the staff is caring, friendly, and supportive We are so glad to have them.

Our experience
The facility leadership has been less than responsive to issues when brought up- that is a
All the way up to corporate. No one calls you back and no matter when you call they are "in meetings".
Better job managing identifying information of their residents- rent payment intercepted and new check created fraudulently, they sent all her information to 8 other families when attempting to get sign off on care plans ( and we got information for 8 other residents).
Memory care area had a distinctive smell (not pleasant) and other residents were allowed to roam into her private space.
[name removed] did not like the food at all... it did not look good and did not smell like it tasted good either.

Pleasant and Friendly - people were smiling
People sitting on the porch visiting and enjoying the weather and conversation. Inside was warm and friendly as well having cheese and crackers and laughter. Staff was friendly and engaged. Building was very nice and kept.

All the staff of this facility are great. All are very friendly and respectful. The greatest comment is how I always see the staff interaction with the residents. Staff also always interact with the families as well. The staff is consistently letting family members know exactly what is going on with the resident. Great staff...Great staff.

Thoughtfulness and Caring
I was able to participate in the community's annual Thanksgiving dinner last night where families could join their loved one and enjoy a Thanksgiving meal. All the staff were so welcoming, caring, and attentive to the residents and their guests. The food was incredible. The dining room was decorated with festive Fall decor. The team at The Jasper of Mansfield really put a lot of effort in ensuring this event created a special memory for the residents and their families. I was impressed by everyone that helped.

Not professional. Personnel can’t or won’t answer questions. Changes without explanation.
Not pleased. Need staff training and more staff. Paid for 3 bather week now 1 or maybe 2. Asked for levels of care and cost per level. No response. Don’t think this will work out well. Will be looking for another place when it’s renewal time. Other services paid for not mentioned or covered.

Definitely would recommen
Mom has been in the community for two plus years and we have enjoyed every aspect other than the food. She hasn't required much care until recently when she went on hospice. Much to my surprise the care team has gone above and beyond for us. Not too sure where it will go with the recent New executive director.

Our family had an in person tour with Cedar Bluff and it was a good tour experience, but due to our loved ones health they were not geared towards caring for her an they had multiple levels and we did not want her by using elevators.

We didn't have a good experience with the community. I wouldn't recommend the community to others for their loved ones. There were several residents in the memory care unit, and not enough staff to care for the residents. There were several occasions that my loved one would go several hours without staff checked on.
There was a medication that came up missing. When this was brought up to the staff by the family, they said they didn't order a refill of this medication in time. My loved one went through withdrawal and this caused our loved one to fall multiple times.
The staff told the family that memory care residents would have to ask for pain medication; however, memory care residents don't know how to ask for this. I would like to see the staff here be trained on what to look for in regards to pain in residents.
The water cup was always dry when the family would visit our loved one. We asked on several occasions that this be filled on a constant basis to keep my loved one hydrated.

Cedar bluff has been a conveniently located place for my loved one to live. The new staff since Frontier has taken over has been a plus. The staff is fun loving and very attentive. Struggling with finding fun activities, but I feel like the residents are the ones that are not wanting to involve themselves in a lot of it, including my loved one. I feel blessed to have her close and still living independently at her age.

These are ratings I would give at the time we moved my loved one out of Cedar Bluff. I cannot recommend this facility until several issues are addressed. Cedar Bluff recently went through a managing company change and almost all staff have resigned. Entire program and facility needs to be reviewed and revised.
I would recommend you be present. Check on your loved one often. Follow-up to be sure the care plan is being followed.
