My mostly happy experience for the first 4 monthshs
I moved in 4 months ago. Admittedly, I have not attended on all the activities, but to the extend I did, here is my opinion: staff: wonderful, attentive and warm. Environment: nice, tidy, and clean, accommodating. Food: I can only give it a 3 star. I find the experience similar to my college cafeteria days, both in quantity and quality. Only wish they provide more variety! For a 55+ downtown facility, Solid 4 stars!

Lovely facility. [name removed], the manager. [name removed], the General Manager is very hands-on. She knew everyone's name and story. WE were invited to dinner and enjoyed the diversity of the menu and the grace in which it was served.

A wonderful place to live
The Heritage downtown provides a safe and supportive environment in which to live. The facility provides a multitude of activities, such as bridge, mahjongg, chair volleyball, and numerous lectures and discussions for the residents to participate in. In addition to these activities, a restaurant on sight serves very good food in a warm, friendly atmosphere which promotes a place to socialize with friends and neighbors. There is also shuttle service available for doctors’ appointments as well as many enjoyable shopping trips and excursions. The location in downtown Walnut Creek affords the residents many opportunities to shop and dine, as well. I am so glad I chose the Heritage Downtown as a retirement place for me!

A fabulous spot
I have lived at Heritage for slightly over 6 years and couldn't be more satisfied with my experience. The campus is beautiful with gardens and flowers, well maintained . There are a full range of activities with a blend of tours, entertainment, and physical activities. There is also weekly at least two periods of social activities with professional musicians with a free happy hour cocktails. There is an on-site swimming pool and hot tub, a fitness center and a specially designed studio for exercise classes. The facility is in a residential area hidden in walking distance of shops and restaurants. All in all- it is impossible to beat.

The Heritage Downtown is Truly the Best!
My Mom has lived at The Heritage for almost four years, and we genuinely couldn’t ask for a better place for her. The staff are all consistently kind, personable, and attentive. Most importantly, our Mom feels safe and comfortable here. Their supplementary service around in-home care was a lifesaver for us, after her brief hospitalization last year. I highly recommend The Heritage to any family looking for a supportive and caring environment for a loved one. Oh, and the food?... Chef's kiss!!

Great place for active Senior living. All residents are friendly and happy to be here. There are plenty of activities and we are only two blocks from downtown Walnut Creek. Highly recommended!
I would rate The Heritage at a 5(five) in all seven categories. In terms of value for cost, while the rent may seem high, it is worth it considering what's included and the quality of service. Also there is not an unreasonable entry fee. My thanks to a Place for Mom for their knowledge and patience in helping me find my perfect place.

A Place for Mom has scored The Heritage Downtown 9.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.   We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.   Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
