Before he moved in, there was a lot of enthusiasm and caring about us in general, but once we moved in, that waned. The only positive constant was [name removed] and the male director whose name I can't recall. I felt my loved one received better care overall on the Memory Care side, but I understand that may be due to not having as many residents in that unit. (he eventually was moved over to the assisted living side). My loved one said the food was really good when he first got there but then got worse. Staff changes. Telling him he couldn't have eggs for breakfast but not explaining why. He was even offered \"better food\" and a \"lower rate\" before he moved out. I can hope that was said in jest, but I wasn't there and my dad said it wasn't. ","reviewerDisplayName":"Anonymous","experienceTypeId":4,"experienceTypeName":"I'm a loved one of a resident or client"},{"reviewTitle":"I think The Bridge is a decent place","reviewContent":"This facility has been great overall. The staff at this facility have done a lot to help my mom and have really gone out of their way to make her feel at home, including nurses, kitchen staff, and housekeeping staff. I'm very happy with how they treat her. She's safe, well taken care of, and getting what she needs here. My only complaint would be the lack of staff and staff turnover. I asked about that prior to moving mom in and was told that they have a stable, consistent staff. Lately that hasn't been the case and I'm hoping that it's temporary. I will say, there are staff members here who have worked at the facility for 10+ years, but there has also been quite a bit of turnover. I've seen turnover in several departments including nurses, office staff, and housekeeping staff. I'd just like to see more consistency and for mom to have the same staff around her consistently everyday. We did have one issue that disappointed me. The heat went out for over half of mom's building during a recent cold spell, it was out for 4 days and the water was out for 2 days. I wasn't notified, I went to visit mom and that's how I found out. When I complained about not being notified, the facility finally sent an email out to families to let them know. But I feel like that should have been done/communicated immediately. They had no back up plan, so I ended up purchasing a space heater for mom to use- which isn't ideal for many reasons. Otherwise, communication with the family has been pretty good. Housekeeping and Laundry are done weekly and trash is collected daily. That's been impacted a little bit lately due to staffing shortages, but not terrible. All in all, compared to what I've seen I think this facility is one of the better one's in the area. I'm happy with mom being here and I would recommend this facility to family and friends.","reviewerDisplayName":"Anonymous","experienceTypeId":4,"experienceTypeName":"I'm a loved one of a resident or client"},{"reviewTitle":"The best quality for the price in this area","reviewContent":"Overall, I like this facility and it's been a good experience so far. I love that the staff recognize me and know who I am/who I'm there to visit. I feel that I can go to them with any problems, I just wish there were more of them. They seem to be spread a bit thin and adding more staff members could alleviate that. But the staff that they do have are great. They were really helpful during the move in and transition process. They also connected us with someone local to help with getting VA benefits, which was a huge help. Housekeeping and laundry is once a week and they do a good job. I've never seen this facility not clean. The activities are awesome, they try to encourage the residents to be active. They email a monthly activities Calendar and also post a schedule in the elevator. That's been very helpful for us, since our loved one won't participate unless I take her. They have a beautician on site, but services are expensive. They provide free basic cable in each room. The meals are wonderful, I've joined my loved one several times. They always have choices and the food always looks so good. My loved one eats better than I do! Additionally, they have a Nurse Practitioner and Dr who come through twice a week. I like that my loved one is monitored and evaluated often. The staff also works well with my loved one and her Dementia. I would recommend this facility to friends and family!","reviewerDisplayName":"CP","experienceTypeId":4,"experienceTypeName":"I'm a loved one of a resident or client"}],"parentOrgReview":{"name":"Century Park Associates","slug":"century-park-associates-10196","averageReviewScoreDisplay":8.4,"communityCount":40,"reviewCount":564}},"communityName":"The Bridge at Charleston","leadgenCompleted":false}
