Terraces Kingwood Town Center
My mom is in a small studio 1st floor. She has an amazing view of the pond! She loves watching the Mallard ducks & Egyptian Geese out of her sliding glass door window. There is even a Great Blue Herron that loves to hang out in the pond! We love the housekeeping ladies there. Lupe & Theresa do an awesome job & are so sweet to my mom. The front desk staff are all amazing! Especially [name removed]! He goes above and beyond the call of duty! Very friendly! It seems like the dining has gone downhill a little bit since my mom got there. She doesn't eat pork, and it seems like the choices have gotten to be more pork than anything. She loves the exercise class & goes 2-3 times per week. My mom is thriving at The Terraces!

Our families experience
I would definitely give them a 5 on every category. I have been so pleased with every aspect so far. The overall experience has been wonderful. Cleanliness is outstanding. They recently remodeled the entire interior and are always doing maintenance. The people have welcomed him with open arm, the NP on site has checked on him twice even though his insurance hasn't quite switched over yet. Every single staff member I have interacted with has gone above and beyond and they all know him by name. The food is outstanding. They have chefs and they offer two special
Entrees every day, as well as regular items at all times. And the value is outstanding for the money, We are very pleased.

I was very impressed with the King Terrace residence, this facility was amazing. The staff here was very helpful and polite. [name removed] helped me in every step of the way and is a wonderful woman that made my entry to the facility an easy transition!!!! I'm looking forward to be apart of this facility.

Mom is happy
My mom is very happy living here. She has made several friends and enjoys spending time with them. She also has a volunteer job in the library, which gives her a sense of purpose and keeps her active. She says the food is very good, and the staff always take great care of her whenever she needs assistance. There are plenty of fun and engaging activities that keep her interested, entertained, and looking forward to each day.

Review for Terraces Kingwood Town Center
I have been extremely pleased with Terraces Kingwood. [name removed] is amazing most of the staff is amazing. The apartment size is perfect for my dad he has a studio so he didn't need much room. The grounds are kept up with very well. The staff in the dining area are all very nice.

The terrace's review
I think that the wait staff in the dinning needs improved. Sometimes my mom has to wait on her food forever! It seems mostly on the weekends. Also, sometimes when I am eating there, it takes somebody a long time to even come take our order.

It is a really nice place
I can say being able to get a hold of staff the couple times I had to get a hold of management. It was not easy, but they were very supportive. The couple times that I've gone to the kitchen to get food for my sister, they are so nice. They're repainting it right now and new carpet and everything but even before that it was beautiful and they were repainting it so it's even cleaner the size of the room that my sister has she has a one bedroom with the Living room. It's bigger than she needs with a little kitchenette. It's so cute. The food is a hit and miss but my sister was a great cook and so am I, however she says there's always something that's good on the menu and she says their soups are always fantastic. She said I have nothing to complain about. They have fresh fruit every day. She gets ice cream every day and they deliver to her room if she needs it to be delivered, she doesn't do a lot of the activities but several of the people that I talk to their love the activities - they're always going somewhere or doing something there. There's a full gym and a pool. It's so much better than the assisted living places that I went to visit in that area hands-down one of the best places I had been to.

Elevator not working since my loved one has been there. They have a new owner so will have to wait and see if elevator gets fixed before there is an emergency. It is three stories and a lot of people with electric scooters and wheelchair.

Overall good choice
There are several activities but it is up to your parent to go to those things bc it is independent living. Same with signing up for excursions. If your parent is struggling with managing a schedule or telling time this may be an issue if you don't have a helper.
I think the apartment sizes are perfect. Not too small. Some units do not have cabinet doors. That can be frustrating if you expected real cabinets. Some are left open for people who use wheelchairs. My parents gripe about their cabinets but then again they gripe about everything bc they havent accepted the change.

They serve 3 meals at any time. (No more Breakfast is only 7 to 9; Lunch is 12 to 2; etc.) There is an indoor swimming pool that is kept at 85 degrees year round. They offer exercise classes in the gym and in the pool. They have transportation to most places you want to go. They have housekeeping free! They have activities, like Poker night, Bingo daily. The staff members are all very friendly. And they offer Care Givers for a fee. They have concerts and holiday celebrations! And they have anything you would like to ask for.

The food is usually pretty good. The staff is friendly. They are kind of slow on getting maintenance done, but are getting better. My mom is liking it there & I feel good about her being there. I love the fact that Lady with the Lamp offices there & the Homewell Health Services is good to have on campus.

Great Facility with Better Service
Staff has been amazing with the setup and move in, the ambassador at the location has made my Mom completely comfortable and was vital making her comfortable, super happy with the overall process. The restaurant is also really good with multiple options and the overall support team is terrific.

Found the right place
The Terraces was the perfect fit for my brother. He is happy, loves the food, thinks the staff cares about him . He also found a good friend he enjoys spending time with who has been there two years and has no complaints.

Substantial decline in quality and value since management change in 2024
Food has gone downhill since ownership / management change. My dad says that yesterday alone, at breakfast, they were out of coffee, orange juice, milk, eggs, and napkins.
At least 3 current residents are considering moving to Watercress.
The A/C has been down multiple times since my dad moved in a year ago.
The security gate is frequently not working - it's become something we regularly joke about.
There's an open hole in the ceiling of my dad's unit that's been left for months. It's not large, but it's still there and hasn't been addressed since the maintenance crew made the hole to repair a sprinkler in the ceiling.
The elevator is frequently broken or not working. Kind of a problem since my dad is on the second floor.
Staff turnover is alarming. NOTHING has been the same since management changed.
Services provided for the residents have gone downhill.
It has become grossly apparent that new management is only interested in their profit margins, not AT ALL in the residents.

Recommend improvements
Staff inconsistent with how they treat some residents.
Facility has issues with air conditioning maintenance in summer months where residents are without air all day. Recommend this be maintained in winter months. Today, gas service is down all day and limits food for today.
I would recommend them however they do have some room for improvement.
