During the transition process from independent living in their own home to a brief stay in our home, my mom’s dementia progressed to the point that the staff recommended placement on the memory care floor. Based on the staffs, perspective and advice, my parents were able to avoid an additional move. I am so thankful that my parents can live together in the same small apartment on the memory floor, where my mom receives special care and my father lives more independently.
