We chose Sunrise of Grosse Pointe Woods because of the small size, proximity to friends and fa ily as well as the friendly staff.
The facility is very intimate and friendly. Everyone is so kind. I think short-staffing is sometimes a problem like many other places, so response time can be slow as a result.

Highly Recommended
My loved one was previously a resident at Sunrise of Grosse Pointe Woods and everything was great for her at this facility! The cleanliness and friendliness were great. The staff, care services, food and activities were great. The value for cost was also great, in comparison to other facilities. Overall, it was a great experience. I would highly recommend Sunrise of Grosse Pointe Woods to others.

Welcoming Environment
My loved one loves the food, it's good. They do have a lot of activities. We picked this community because of its location and small size. They are extremely friendly, and very welcoming, the staff is very nice, and it feels homey. I would recommend to other families.

We toured at Sunrise of Grosse Pointe Woods, and I thought it looked great. They had a lot of activities going on. This Sunrise location had both assisted living and memory care, and for our loved one who needed memory care, we preferred a different Sunrise location that offered memory care only. Bu this one looked great too.

The Best Option, in a Hard Situation
Sunrise is a great alternative if you have to put a loved one in memory care. They make it the best that the situation can be. The staff are very available, professional, and caring in answering our questions or addressing our concerns about our loved one. The communication is really good with the staff.
The care is good. There are little things that could be altered to be a better experience. However, I feel that my loved one is safe and cared for. Medication management, bathing, hygiene, and dressing assistance is some of the care the community provides for my loved one.
The apartment, utilities, laundry, changing of linens, housekeeping, and all the meals are included in the monthly fee.
The food seems average. My loved one isn't very fond of the food offered. Some of the activities the community has musicians, sing alongs, movement exercises, painting, short walks outside, and more for the residents to choose from.

Sunrise Felt Like Extended Family to Us
The manager is superb and really cares about the staff, and resident's along with their families. This creates a wonderful experience. If my other loved ones needed assisted living this would be the place I would put them, as we had such a good experience.

Our Tour Experience
There are a couple of Sunrise communities in the area. This is the newer one. Based on our virtual tour, it looked like a very nice place, and more updated. I liked the designs and everything they had in there. The two Sunrises were very similar, and we liked both of them. This was just the more updated version.

Our experience with Sunrise
It is very expensive especially for the care that they provide. My mom could not walk when she went in here, but her mind was 100%. Once she was in here, she was stuck in a little room. They moved her from her chair to her bed and fractured her fibula, they are just not careful with her. Then they will put her to bed at 8:30 and when she lived at home, she would never be in bed before 11. Things are just now starting to open up in the past 2 weeks and I am ready to get in there to see how things really are. It is a beautiful place and my mom said the food is good. They also have a dog that walks around the facility which is nice because she is a dog lover. I would tell others before moving your loved ones in here to make sure you go over the details.

The community is very nice, and most of the staff was friendly but there were others that were not. I expected more from the community. I would recommend the community if you can afford it due to the community not taking insurance.

Could not have asked for a better experience
We had a great experience with Sunrise of Grosse Pointe Woods. We chose the facility because of the appearance as well as the cleanliness, it seemed a step above others. We also were impressed with how professional the staff members were here. I could not have asked for anything better for my dad and we would absolutely recommend this facility.

I contacted Place for Mom via computer and was very pleased with the response I got. We wanted to relocate my sister in law, of whom recently lost her husband, in CAlifornia and bring her to Michigan. We had several places call and send email for us to visit, and we did visit about 6 places in our area. We were very impressed with Sunrise as it was a nation wide facility. They offer several things to keep their minds active but it is up to the individual to cooperate and join in.

My father's care
I was not happy with the care here for my father. The price was at and they did not check on my father often. There was little contact. They are unstaffed. They need a lot more staff for each patient. The meals were offered. I would suggest other families take a tour of this community for the care and the cost of the care.

My Friend Loves It Here
My friend loves it here at this community. It is truly and beautiful community. Everything looks very nice and clean. It is a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. They have a very good staff here, they are taking good care of my friend and her needs. Everybody is very kind and friendly. This community has worked out well for my friend.

mother really enjoys it
My mother enjoys being there at Sunrise of Grosse Pointe Woods. The food is very good and they have very good activities for the senior residents, getting them involved in various things, taking them on trips, etc. She really enjoys the happy hour they have there. The place is very clean and has a warm welcoming feel to it. It's been a very positive experience and I would highly recommend them.
