Review for Summer Place
Overall, I love it here. However, I would not recommend going to a retirement home like this with a guy dog, because everyone wants to pet it, feed it and all that stuff. I also think the rent goes up faster than the cost of living raises due. Other than that, though, I'm very happy here and love it and glad that I went through A Place For Mom for this choice.

Welcoming Place
My dad has been at Summer Place for 3 months. The facility is clean and well maintained. There are many activities to provide exercise, stimulation and socialization. The staff is friendly and attentive. He is having a very positive experience.

A Great Experience
I would rate Holiday Summer Place very good. We just got a new activities director and she is doing a great job. The community is expensive but based on the experience I have had so far, I would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

Manager was terrific - always available and helpful. Activities were frequent and varied. Housekeeping staff was very good & very understanding. Summer place was ideal for my mother who was very independent. We always knew she was safe.

IM REALLY HAPPY HERE
The people hear are great, very responsive to my needs. When I bring up an issue it is dealt with promptly and not pushed aside. The staff is always aware of what's going on and are attentive. The staff is dedicated to us the residents. The staff is very patient with residents.

We looked at 6 communities and summer place was very lively and that's why we chose to live here. We love the socialization here. The entire staff is always very pleasant. The staff is very approachable and kind. The residents are very social. We can come and go as we like so it truly feels like home. And we love our apartment.

MY TOUR
I toured the building twice, once before the renovations, and then after the renovations. I decided to move to SummerPlace because of how the staff made me feel. They are welcoming and caring. The office staff is wonderful and first class.

Love it here
Everything here is great. The community is always clean and looks great. It's a community that is fun and the residents all get along with each other. The staff is very aware of everything they are here 1st thing in the morning and here very late at night.

Excellent!
I would highly recommend Summer Place. The staff is excellent and made the paperwork and moving process efficient and seamless. The units were very reasonable for what you get. The dining and food are superb!

The place is in a great location everything you need is in a walking distance. restaurants, drug store and many other stores. I love living here a lot of nice people to talk to and a lot of a activities. You would do yourself a great favor coming here to live.

Upbeat and friendly!
I want to live there! The staff are all warm and friendly. I can tell it is a great community by how the residents are smiling! Clean beautiful private grounds. Not on a busy street. Renovated this year, unlike others that tell you "oh, we are going to renovate". They have great trips like going to York Beach Maine. Easy to walk around. Stores near by all with in easy walking distance, plaza, wine and liquor store, CVS, many restaurants for change of pace! They don't nickel and dime you like some others. No pet fee, no room transfer fee, you can have a car, family can visit and eat there no extra charge! Wonderful! My mom is very excited! Ask for a tour! Seeing is believing!

Awesome Visit
I toured and dined in the facility, in search of a place for my dad. The manager/asst. manager were excellent. Nice renovations will be finished in February.
The best part was the couple hours I spent talking with a 90-yr mom and her daughter. The mom had to leave a few years ago due to her husband's condition, and was now thrilled to be returning. I got to see the reunion with the staff and her friends. Impressive retirement home.

Summer Place has been absolutely fantastic. A fantastic choice. I can't say enough good about it.
If a person had a restrictive diet, such as lactose intolerant, gluten-free, and so on, I don't know how they would accommodate that. But I would say that for any place. I do not have any diet restrictions, so for me, they have met all my needs, and I think it's a fantastic place.

She loves that utilities are included. She feels safe, and can have her dog there. She does worry about the rent going up. The staff is really friendly, you can go in and see her whenever. She is very happy here and is close to her family. She likes that everyone age ranges all the way up to age 95. It is very welcoming. I have not seen her this happy in a long time.

Beautiful facility, very expensive
The manager [name removed] and front desk gal [name removed] are great people. It is just outrageously expensive for what you get. The employees are very good at what they do, but nursing staff hired to come in seems click. The facility is very beautiful and clean. The residents and staff are always friendly, staff also know everyone by name. The price has increased a lot in just a couple of months and we were not notified that that was going to be happening. I do also think they could provide more activities based on the residents level of care.

The thing that makes Summer Place stick out above and a beyond other facilities we looked at is their staff members, they are right on top of things. I would highly recommend them to others looking.
