Great fit for my dad, highly recommend
For Storypoint, what stood out to me initially was the activities for residents and their range of care level options should my father need it over time beyond what he needs for now. Since my Dad moved in last month, I've seen how much he has enjoyed his remodeled apartment and the care free living with the medical staff taking care of his meds, the dining room with impressive menu options, and not worrying about cleaning or laundry. He has also taken advantage of the on site physical, occupational, and speech therapy to continue his recovery. He has also started taking advantage of their transport van to get out to some local shopping.
My Dad is still the 'new kid,' but he has already made a few friends and the 24 hour care has helped de-stress life for him and for our family.
I imagine there are some cheaper assisted living options in the area, with varying levels of support options, but for my Dad Storypoint was the perfect choice for his care needs now and into the future.

Heartless
I couldn't be more disappointed with our experience. We moved my sister in law into the furnished apt. on a Tuesday. That Saturday she was taken to the hospital and passed away on that following Tuesday. She only slept in the furnished apartment for 4 nights. When we signed the lease, The sales rep. convinced us that the [Amount removed]Community Fee" is just a way to lock in and it would be applied to her May's rent, essentially, it would be returned. Sadly, her health took a turn after only 4 days at Storypoint and they refuse to refund the [Amount removed] I've been in constant contact with [Name removed], the Director, and she refuses to help. In my opinion, that sets the tone for Storypoint. I will never talk highly of them and I will tell everyone I know that they only care about money and not the residents. That's the most cold thing I've ever heard in my life.

Impressed after 3 months
Had no choice. They were the only facility that would take her in her condition. I would recommend Storypoint Romeoville to others. onboarding went well, the buildings are well maintained and it's a pleasant environment.

Everything we need and more
My cousin has been a resident for about 2 years. Everyone we have interacted with has been very friendly and helpful. Everyone addresses you by name and answers any and all of our questions and addresses all of our concerns.

Although it’s a bit pricey, I’m very happy with the experience overall. The communication is excellent—staff answer questions quickly and are very responsive. I really appreciate the thoughtful details, like the resident’s story and photo placed right inside the door so all staff can immediately get to know her. The color-coded door system is also a nice touch that helps with organization and care.
It’s reassuring to know there are security cameras in the rooms for monitoring, which adds an extra layer of safety and peace of mind.
Overall, the quality of care and communication make it worth the cost.

Our Family Recommendation.
My spouse has been at StoryPoint in Romeoville since last August. We are very happy with the care that he has received. He has settled in and excepts this is where he lives now and is content. The food is delicious, I often eat meals with him. The staff is very caring and patient. We are still very happy with our choice of StoryPoint For his care. My husband has settled in very well. He now knows he stays here all the time & makes no attempts to leave. The staff is caring & kind. I have eaten lunch with him numerous times. The food is plated & served individually. He eats everything & when I join him it has always been delicious. Seconds are always available.

StoryPoint Romeoville, overall great place for aging loved ones
We loved our care partners and nurses! Everyone was very caring and helpful.
We chose this facility because of the "vibe" when you walk in the door. We said it was like being on a cruise ship without the water.
Room sizes are sufficient and the amenities are wonderful. Laundry & cleaning services make things easier on families. There is a parking garage for those that can still drive and choose to have their own vehicle.
The only issue we had was lack of communication and follow through. Families need to stay on top of things to make sure plans are being followed.

We would give them a 3.5. It is very clean. Phone calls are not returned from staff or home health . Front staff could be a little nicer to residents from what I have observed in the lobby.

Best option in the immediate area
My sister and I checked out 4-5 senior centers that provide both independence and assisted living options. Staff turnover seems to be an issue at most of these places so prepared for that.
