Sooner Station is overall good. There are some growing pains. Many have had issues with water from rain. The facility is very clean. The lady that cleans his unit weekly keeps his unit immaculate and she is wonderful personally. He likes all of the staff especially in the dining room. One exception, my father-in-law doesn't like the director. He will say what you want to hear, no follow through, doesn't support his staff.

Sooner station is definitely one of a kind. I do like the continual activities, the food is very good although it always comes room temperature and sometimes cold. They have a great staff specially recreational folks. They keep things going active. Management is really pretty good. There's a couple issues and attitudes that are not what you would call kind tourist tenants. They asked for [fee removed] deposit if you want to have an animal. I gave my 30 day notice the next day. The building is only about two years old and it's had continual water damage which is contributed to mold and mildew and people are moving out, half because of management issues and half because of the health issues with the water and mildew. anytime it rains, especially in heavy rains, the building has more water damage, and people are actually being moved out of their apartments and it takes months sometimes for them to get back into it after the water damage. Destruction and construction folks are there every day for another construction issue. the rate of pay is unbelievable. I had the least expensive apartment and it was less than 600 ft.² for [fee removed] a month. I stayed three months and moved back to my home. Thankfully, I didn't sell it. Although I was offered full price by five different people, I'm very thankful. I didn't accept the offers and came back home. Personally, I would not move back there. I hope this helps some in your reviews. Part of the perks advertised as housekeeping once a week. In my 14 weeks there I had housekeeping one day. Needless to say I was paying for services that were never rendered

Amazing all around!
Sooner station has been wonderful. The only negative I would say is that my mom’s room has had water leaks. The staff and activities are wonderful. It has a great salon and everyone who works there is wonderful

Overall, the staff is very good, friendly, helpful with residents and family members and call visiting family members by name. There are a limited number of staff members, approximately 2, who fall below the above, and maybe should not be in this type of care; never seem happy and are just getting through the day. Housekeeping in residents' rooms is good, has gotten better, but could improve relative to cleaning when needed (especially when resident floors needs to be swept) not wait until "cleaning day". The common areas are always clean and well maintained. Communication has been fine, it's a two way street that each party could work on. Move-in process was okay, no hiccups. Moved furniture, tv, some clothes, etc a week or so before moving in my Dad and staff was overall very helpful when needed items like scissors that I'd forgotten. The food is sometimes impractical for the residents. Such as bulky sandwiches that are difficult for residents to handle or corn on the cob without "handles". Food being warm vs hot is an ongoing issue. Sometimes I think their meals could be a bit more "home cooking" style for this generation of residents. Serve additional veggies like buttered cabbage, turnips, carrots. And no chili at evening meal. However, meal quality has improved since moving in and desserts are usually very good. Staff lets all residents eat at their own pace and there is no rushing. I would definitely recommend this facility.

I would never recommend this facility to anyone! The staff in the memory care are brusque. They are not gentle, and overall exhibited the feeling that they don't care. They kept the memory care room, filthy, trash, not emptied, dirty linens, piled in the bathroom, bed not changed. The meals were terrible. The move-in and move out process went very smoothly because the staff had nothing to do with it. I'm sure if they had had something to do with it they would have screwed it up like they screwed up everything else. I had my father there for approximately two months, and would never put him there again. my mother has been in their independent living facility and although they are contracted to clean it every week, she has not once had housekeeping come and clean her apartment in the two months that she has been there. We have requested maintenance on several issues, stretching over a 2 to 3 month period, and nothing has ever been taken care of. My mother has been in her apartment over two months and was just now today given a key to that apartment. Under no circumstances would I ever suggest that anyone be put at this facility.

New facility is nice
My parents seem happy at sooner station. Cleaning of the rooms is not that great. My biggest problem is there is no communication between the nurse/doctor and myself. I want to know if they are sick and the prescribed treatment plan. I hear nothing unless I run the nurse down while visiting my parents.

Sooner Station at University North Park is a really nice place. The only drawback for us was they did not have the option to stay in independent living and add on your own additional care if needed. They did offer their own assisted living and memory care though which is nice.
