The overall facility is reportedly getting a face lift (yet to start) but he does find the overall residents to have more debility and cognitive impairment than his prior independent senior living setting so finding active engaged community members is more challenging.

Feels Like Home
Shasta Estates is truly an incredible senior community! The staff here is nothing short of amazing—many have been dedicated to this community for over 14 years, creating a warm and welcoming environment that feels like family. Their compassion and commitment to the residents shine through in everything they do.
One of the best things about Shasta Estates is the variety of fun outings and daily activities designed to keep residents engaged, active, and social. Whether it's group excursions, creative arts, exercise classes, or family-inclusive events, there’s always something exciting happening. The team goes above and beyond to ensure that every resident enjoys a vibrant, fulfilling lifestyle.

Beautiful location and a very friendly staff
My parents moved in here, September 8. They were able to get into a large one bedroom apartment. It has taken sometime to adjust to the new living situation. They are adjusting and getting into a routine and are very happy there.

Hoping for Improvements
These above ratings are based mainly on my wife's input with some of mine. She considers the management staff and overall management of the facility to be incompetent.
We haven't had enough experience to rate them against other facilities so I don't know how to compare. If I was going to move into one of the homes, I would still consider Shasta Estates.

Time for Everyone
Visiting our great grandma a few days ago at Shasta Estates was wonderful. We live overseas and they were very accommodating to our needs. We were offered to stay in the guest room to allow us to spend as much time with her as possible. Over the time spent with the people at Shasta I was surprised to see the team spend so much time with all the seniors. We are pleased that our great grandma has found a place that is so loving and caring.

y don't recommend Shasta estates to anybody
Overall experience rating is mostly due to upper management inflexibility when problems were brought up. A very kind and responsive staff. Some staff weren't trained very well so some things went unworked. They never hired a very effective activities director after the 1 they had couldn't work. Very few very interesting activities. [fee removed] /mo! For a tiny studio comparable to a $50/night hotel

The most senior, administrative staff are all friendly and courteous. There is constant turnover among all other staff with the exception of the cook. The facility is not well maintained as far as cleanliness. There is poor follow up on expressed concerns.

Holiday Shasta Estates review
I attribute the meals and dining service as well as the activities rating to personnel attendance issues. I believe they need more more flexibility in rental rates due to mine and others financial challenges and hardships.

Hoping food gets better
The facility and staff are great, the only downfall is the food. My loved one said as a lot of people are unhappy with the food and are looking into new places that are newer. The day we moved her in, one of the ladies I rode up in the elevator with said she was moving out because of the food as well. I have heard that they were just bought out by a new company, so we are hoping for some improvements.

First Impressions at Shasta Estates
The staff is very friendly and seem to listen. But as far as them putting action to voiced concerns, that has been a little slow. They don't have a way to introduce new people to the community. I wish they had a greeter or ambassador to help new residents meet people, mingle, and get acclimated. I don't see the staff calling people by name. And I don't see a personal and welcoming connection between the staff and the residents. They don't have a laundry facility available for residents 24/7. M-F, the residents can use the laundry room from 6 am - 8 am and after 4 pm. And then on the weekends they can use it all day long. But during the daytime on weekdays, it's closed for housekeeping to wash towels and sheets . I think there should be separate laundry facility for staff vs. residents. There have been three different chefs in the last three months. They seem to continually ask what you think about what's going on with the food, but then it doesn't seem like any changes are made after those conversations. But it's a very nice place overall. It's a beautiful setting with beautiful grounds. The apartments and amenities are all good. The staff are friendly. There are just some things I would like them to do differently - most of all making a more welcoming experience for new residents.

We really liked Shasta Estates, if the decision was up to me I actually preferred this facility. It is owned by the same company as the place that my dad chose, it is just a lot newer. I think they have a better use of their common areas for the residents.
