Beautiful, bright and clean!
Since I do not live in the Ft Meyers area but knew that it was time for my nephew (who did live in the area) to place my brother in assisted living. A place for Mom offered us a few options which I looked at online. After choosing a place that I knew he could afford and would enjoy living in, I asked my nephew to visit and tour the facility. He was completely impressed and found the administration to be quite helpful in making the transition. My brother has been there for three months now and has settled in nicely into his new home, which is only a few miles from his son's home. With the guidance of a Place for Mom, I believe we have found the perfect match!

Excellent customer service from [name removed] down through every member of her staff. [name removed] worked on the numbers making the choice to place my parents here an excellent fit. It was great how the nurse arrived at my parent’s home to do a health care needs analysis so quickly after my visit. Don’t stop at the high priced [community removed] or any of the other assisted living facilities in the Fort Myers area. Head straight to Salterra and you won’t be disappointed with their five star treatment.

Wonderful care
They take great care of our mom. She needs a lot of help to get around. They make sure she is at every activity during the day. The staff is always available to answer any questions we have.

Most of the staff is fine and helpful. Sometimes his room is neat but I am sure it is who is helping him that day. There were a few rules that the communication was slack but once it got clarified, all is good. He seems content and is not mistreated. His room is comfortable and plenty of room. I am sure no place is perfect but they are doing a good job.
For the most part they are friendly, staff and residents. [name removed] is in the memory care area which I am sure makes a difference. He has put some weight on which he needed.

The entire building was super clean and quiet. The dining room was quite inviting.

The whole experience was very pleasant. The staff was very attentive and very friendly. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Love the meals and snacks. The kitchen was a welcome surprise!

Not what it seems
This facility looks great, the staff are very nice. After my grandma was there for 2 months she lost so much weight, I could never get calls back from the nursing staff to answer my concerns. I live out of state and don’t have the ability to visit all the time, but the next opportunity I got did not go well. The staff hardly spoke English or knew who she was, I was escorted around looking for someone who could answer my questions only to end up with no answers. I am not very happy with this facility at all, my advice to all is don’t be fooled by the welcome parade. It seems this place manages itself.

Our Experience
Quality of care is tricky. Some of the home health aids are not that great, but you might find that in every facility. However, the nursing and PT has been great. There could be more and better activities. The Value for Cost is great. In comparing costs, you are getting a pretty decent place that is affordable.

My dad was in the memory care area for about one week. It is not equipped to care for later stages of dementia or challenging behaviors that are common for dementia patients. His room also had a broken toilet that wasn’t fixed.

Overall pleased
We came at a bad time during the transition to Bayside. But even though, follow up from administration staff is a challenge. The staff that I see working throughout the facility are great and knows what's going on. I only say this because getting the names of the physicians that come to this facility to set mom up with a new primary doctor, never happened. I found the group though and picked a very nice Nurse Practitioner who visits her.
