Substandard care for assisted living residents!
My loved one lived at the Renaissance for 8 years, and until the current onsite management staff took over, it was a wonderful and vibrant facility.
The current executive director has put a chokehold on finances, limiting needed repairs and scaling back resident activities. In dealing with family and residents, he is insincere and dismissive. Often pretending to listen to suggestions and concerns, but never implementing any meaningful changes.
The marketing and sales staff advertise a variety of services that are rarely delivered.
The nursing staff is short handed, and response times are exceedingly excessive, often leaving assisted living residents waiting a hour or longer for needed assistance and care.
Based on our experience over the last 8 years, we would strongly recommend talking with existing residents to get their opinions and get ALL offered services in writing before making a final decision. Buyer beware!

Renaissance on Peachtree review
We are in the assisted living section of the Renaissance, so this does not apply to the independent living section: The staff are excellent and go to great measures to make my mother-in-law happy and comfortable. Those new to the "assisted living" concept should understand that "assisted living" does not always mean "around the clock care." When my mother-in-law has needed extra help after recent falls/injuries, we had to hire additional staff out of our own pocket. This is NOT a complaint, and should not be treated that way. But since we did not know that was the process, others may not know as well. I will add that the Renaissance has made it very easy to get extra help, even on short notice, as they have a partnership with a third-party provider who so far has been very flexible and helpful.

Renaissance on Peachtree
My husband and I recently moved to the magical place that the Renaissance is; from the beautiful landscaping to the old world charm mixed with modern features, a grand lobby, spacious apartments, and gorgeous dining rooms, we feel at home and like we belong. We especially love the location, location, location and connection to all the city offers. But perhaps the staff are the most impressive. They are devoted professionals who greet us with smiles, attentiveness and the assurance that demonstrates genuine care. I would add that we've met some residents that will become friends for life and the food is excellent! Coming all the way from the Midwest, we feel blessed to have landed here!!

Great Staff
There is a good bit of personnel turnover but it doesn't seem to affect the services. It is a small community and easily managed by residents who could be lost in a large facility. Very warm and loving staff!

Tour Review
Our family had an in person tour with Renaissance on Peachtree and they kept us there for like two hours - I appreciated in some ways because it was our first tour ever and the questions she asked about our needs helped frame my questions for the next facility. But it was just way too long. They did give us cookies though. Which is good bc I was starving after two hours. I'm not sure if you recommend locations to people, but it was not a place a middle income person would feel comfortable, in general. A bit cold in atmosphere and kind of... fancy? I'm solidly middle class my whole life and as soon as I was alone with my spouse I said, "even if we had the money, there's no way mom would feel comfortable there"

I do not know about the retirement residents, but they are definitely not good at the assisted living aspect side of care.
There is no care plan in place, he has fallen out of the bed several times.
I am having trouble getting call backs from staff, they say they do but I am not getting the calls.
They are very polite, nice and the facility looks fantastic but the response from staff is just not there like it should be and is being paid for.

We felt they did not sell the place very well during our tour. They did not offer 3 meals a day, 5 days a week. They also did not offer a free gym membership. They did not offer a lot of amenities that we were looking for which was why we chose a different facility.

I would encourage others to come here. The location and community is very nice. I like living here. The staff are wonderful and right here for the residents. They are fantastic.
The food has improved since I have moved in, and it is pretty good. They have special dinners on occasion.

Nice Community with Room for Improvement
My in-laws love their large unit with lots of storage compared to most communities. However they have been highly disappointed by the quality/variety of meals and the community is understaffed especially in housekeeping and maintenance. Same front desk staff are not attentive (check-in, security) and there are issues with community/resident communications.

My Experience at The Renaissance
I wouldn't recommend this community. In fact I am leaving in a bit.
The food is not good, so I fixed my own food.
I had a 2 bedroom room apartment, and it is nice. This was one of the biggest apartments they had to offer.
It was better before COVID, and now you can't go anyplace. If you have to go to a hospital then you had to be quarantined.

Under new management
We chose this community mainly because of the staff members [names removed] also it is a half a mile from our house. The apartment itself is a nice size for my parents and we like its newness. They are in independent living moving towards assisted living and are able to make that change without moving. They have undergone new management. Before this change, the facility would get a 5, but since the new management and COVID it has gone downhill. Due to COVID, they are not cooking the meals here. Before COVID the food was great, but now is it not good. I would not recommend this community right now due to the management change and COVID.

The Renaissance On Peachtree
They seem to be dedicated to keeping things at the community clean. The staff is great; they are even bringing us our meals to our rooms and they go above and beyond. The food is good, although it is a little fattening. The main thing is that they cannot accommodate for special diets. Previous to the Covid-19 pandemic, they had adequate activities, however they could have been better and had more.

Renaissance on Peachtree: One Family's Experience
My mom has been at Renaissance on Peachtree since January 2018 and lives on the Assisted Living floor. She requires help with all aspects of daily living: dressing, using the bathroom, bathing, etc. My dad, who is still able to live alone and care for himself, visits her three days a week and has had a lot of interaction with the Assistant Director and staff. My son, brother, and I visit every week. We are all impressed by the consistent quality of care at and management of this facility. The staff have been wonderful with my mom. They make all the difference in the world! They sincerely and genuinely care for and about all the residents. They are friendly, helpful, competent, and well trained. The food is delicious and the variety of daily and weekly activities is excellent. They even had a Mardi Gras parade (we’re from New Orleans), complete with bead throwing! For my parent’s 64th anniversary, all my dad had to do was ask and they arranged a very special, private dinner for them with white tablecloth, candlelight, wine, steaks, and a private, tableside chef. Everything about Renaissance on Peachtree is first class, from the atrium that looks like a five star hotel, to the hair salon, exercise classes, movies, transportation service, and weekly outings to various places around Atlanta. There is something for everyone here; it doesn’t matter if you’re completely independent or require a good deal of assistance. Each resident is treated with the same level of caring and respect. It’s close to shopping, hospitals, grocery stores, and everything else in the heart of Atlanta, for those who are more mobile. Also, they allow pets—so important to quality of life as we age. Visitor parking is quite limited but they have complimentary valet parking, so it’s never a problem.
This is definitely the kind of place you want for your loved one. My family and I would highly recommend Renaissance on Peachtree to anyone looking for an assisted living facility in Atlanta.
