Very disappointed
There needs to be more bus van trips. The food was salty and unhealthy. I had to order a salad with my dinner and I think that a small green salad should be included with dinner. Less ice cream and more fresh fruit. Being a type 2 diabetic l didn't have too many choices.

I would not have my parents live here
I was previously a resident at Oswego Place Assisted Living Community and overall my experience here at this facility was terrible. The staff at this facility were good, but they were overworked. The food was awful. The cleanliness and friendliness were good. The care services were terrible. Overall, no I would not recommend Oswego Place Assisted Living Community to others.

We chose Oswego Place initially because they had openings, they were flexible for tour and move in date and it was a Clean environment and friendly staff.
The staff were accessible and accommodating to work with family member despite difficult situations. Communication was excellent.
I would recommend Oswego Place to others.

Oswego Place felt very dark, I did not get a good impression from the facility. My tour guide also made a couple of political comments during the tour experience which I did not appreciate.

Not As Expected
This was not a great experience for us. There was a lot of staff turnover and a lot of chaos for the residents, and family. I wouldn't recommend the community to others for their loved ones.
The community used an agency staffing and it was hard to get to know the staff, because it was constantly changing. I wasn't comfortable having my loved one here. There was no internal communication with the staff and upper management, and we never knew which staff reported to who because there was no following through of finding answers for us.
There were three meals a day served, and the residents had choices to choose from. The Executive Director and Marketing Director were trying really hard to make changes to the community, and they were responsive to the family's questions.

Our family had an in person tour and Oswego Place was a No Way and we wanted to leave about 15 minutes in. We scheduled the tour and the person who was suppose to do it wasn't there so someone else gave the tour. She had no idea about cost and couldn't answer any general questions. We asked for a room with a view because the first room was level to the parking lot so they showed us another one that still wasn't good. One thing they did though was to follow up right away and see if we had any questions.

Awful
When I first moved to Oswego Place, I was very satisfied. The executive director was kind and caring. She could be tough at times, but I never thought she was unfair. Then when she left we got a executive director that is the housekeepers daughter. In my opinion she doesn't know how to be a leader. If she gets upset she attempts to lead by intimidation. She lied to me several times and when she got caught, she just got angry. She is also holding approximately [removed]. You can tell how well the place is doing by the number of empty apartments they have. When I left there was 16, that is quite a few for a building with 62 apartments. The place I am at now has "one." If you are considering moving into Oswego Place pay a unannounced visit and talk to the residents, they will tell you the truth. There is one housekeeper for all the apartments, my current place has three.

Best decision our Dad made for himself.
My Dad moved into Oswego Place in November after touring several other Communities in the area. The initial visit with the staff and facilities made it an easy choice for Dad. Everyone greeted Dad with smiles and enthusiasm. For my brother and I knowing that the staff is managing his meds and he's getting 3 great meals a day has been a huge relief to us. He's adjusted quickly to his new home and is thriving thanks to Oswego Place and the people to make it happen.

Great place
This place is great. Take it from someone that has been in two other communities. The staff is friendly and helpful here. The other two places, I was in, left a lot to be desired. I take pain medication and frequently it would be almost time for another pill before I got the first one(at the other place) Management here is great. They listen to your concerns and attempt to alleviate your concerns. Maintenance is very helpful. They will hang your pictures, carry heavy stuff in and out of your apartment , among many other things. The other residents seem happy also. I like it here!!!!

Family type atmosphere, would highly recommend
We chose Oswego Place because it was fairly cost effective and they were willing to work with us on what we needed. They were very flexible with getting us moved in quickly and we appreciated that. It is a little bit of a smaller community so it has more of a family oriented type of feel. It is quiet and secluded area and the grounds are very nice. It has been a good experience and I would definitely recommend them to others looking.

We have had nothing but good things to say about this community. My loved one says it's a great place to live. The community is clean, and the staff is very friendly. They have activities for the residents to do, and the food is good also. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

There's Always a Friendly Greeting
I would go visit and see for yourself to see if it's a fit. The community makes an effort to take care of the residents. My friend wishes there would be more residents to interact with in the community.

Highly recommend
We chose Oswego Place because of the proximity to family, the facility itself is smaller so she gets more one on one care, and after talking with the director when we were looking, she was very knowledgeable and helpful. They are always very responsive when I have questions and they are great in terms of communication if any changes or things like that, they are attentive and pay a lot of attention to what she needs. I would recommend them.

Our elder...
If your elder needs hands on care, feeding, dressing, changing, moving, etc. this is not the place for you. Care staff very slow to respond to calls, and then they only marginally know what they are doing.
Our elder had to be removed in less than three days.
But it looks good on the outside.

It would be unfair to say customer service is bad because oswego place has very good managers that provide more then excellent customer service, But [name removed] the new manager has no Patience, looks mad all the time and hardly ever greets guest or family and to say the least her cell phone is her primary focus. caregivers are sweet and work very hard and the nurse and health director are very attentive and Hands on. Overall oswego is friendly, clean and a great option for your loved one care wise. but the face of the building “the receptionist” needs a complete attitude check.

Take a deeper look!
This facility looks great on first observation, but don't be fooled. The staff has little or no experience caring for our beloved seniors, they are paid at minimum wage and are given little training. The nursing and medical aide assistance is lacking in training and experience as well. The family must be onsite, on a daily basis, to adequately monitor the quality of care that is being administered.
Keep looking for a better equipped and more qualified assisted living center. Oswego Place would probably be fine for retirement level senior living.

Reviews are appreciated however we are very confused by yours. None of our Staff are paid minimum wage and are all given ample training to perform their duties to best serve our residents. The nursing and medical aide staff at Oswego Place are in fact so trained and experienced that other communities sent their Nursing and Medical Aide staff to them for training. The residents at Oswego place by Bonaventure are very well cared for and are our communities top priority.

Confusion between caregiver and staff
Since my Mother-In-Law has moved in, there seems to be some confusion between a personal caregiver, and the facility’s staff members. She is paying for the highest care level they offer but, she isn’t receiving all of the services she needs. I’m not sure if that’s because of the caregiver, or because my Mother-In-Law doesn’t allow the staff members to do those things. Also, whenever I am visiting her, the staff members seem to be pleasant. However, her caregiver doesn’t get along with any of them. Until things get sorted out, I cannot recommend them.
