They also have daily activities for the residents in memory care, going out on walks, taking them on outings, bringing in music; staff go above and beyond many facilities. My mom, sisters, and I all got very close to the staff and when he passed away this September, we could not have asked for more tender care in his last days. While she definitely has some cognitive decline with age (almost 89 yo) and some early symptoms of memory loss and dementia, we felt that an assisted living facility with memory care in-house would suit her best at this stage of her life. She has seamlessly made the transition to one of the one bedroom apartments. It was completely refurbished before she moved in with new carpet, paint, appliances & bathroom fixtures. She also seems to be more engaged than her previous facility & is making new friends at mealtime. She says the food is pretty good. \n\nWe are very pleased so far with our choice to move her into BNC. We have a bus and Bonaventure advertised having transportation to local churches but it doesn't happen. We're oftentimes short of a bus driver. That is also difficult for those with doctor appointments. \nWe have meetings to address problems but the solutions are limited. \nI am sorry to report anything negative but it is happening. I really like Bonaventure on the whole. I like my apartment. Our housekeeping staff are great. Our chef is excellent when he is here.
