I never felt like a member of the community. Management was professional and helpful but the staff seems to need more training. Staff was friendly and polite but many times did not know how to help me (side bar: I had trouble getting from vertical to horizontal and could not get off the floor if I fell). Not one staff member used the standard strap to help me (except the nurse) even though I was assured they had all been trained to use it. Second; the time between pushing the help button and getting help most times was way too long (once over an hour and then only got help because a staff member entered for a totally different reason). Food was good and waiter staff were excellent.\nThe food was great and I can't say enough good things about wait staff. My only complaint is when I pushed the need help button it took way too long to respond. We have also been having issues with getting him a phone line set up. Century Link says it works on their end but not at his apartment. We are still trying to figure that out. One issue that I have is that at times it has been difficult to find a staff member if we need assistance and if we have questions. They seem a bit short staffed. Our mom only ended up being at Sunrise for four months before she passed, but the care she received was excellent. The nursing staff was attentive and communicated with us often. They responded to any questions or concerns quickly. My sister and I visited mom multiple times each week and were able to observe her in a variety of situations. We made the facility our home and took mom everywhere in the building and around the grounds and even into the neighborhood. She enjoyed going for walks in her wheelchair!
