I highly recommend New Perspective
We chose New Perspective Prior Lake over others that we looked at because the facility was close by, she could be independent in her own apartment and could add services when needed. It was clean, food is good and staff is friendly. All of the staff have been very helpful. We haven't tried many activities yet and she does not really require much care either.

Terrible corporate greed
Disgusting corporate greed. Charged my mother $[amount removed] for carpet replacement of a 700 square foot apartment and $[amount removed]for a new freezer door. This is after a $[amount removed] a non refundable fee for starting the lease. No receipts given for work. Rent raised 18.75% in one year. Look elsewhere!

Rebecca, we certainly understand the frustrations inherent in your comments. After digging into the issues you raised, our records show that we have never charged a resident for a new freezer door nor have we charged a New Perspective Prior Lake resident for carpet replacement. Additionally, while our residents did see a standard rate increase this past January, we did pull our January 2023 rate increase forward to November of this year to combat that ravaging effects of inflation. For example, the USDA estimates that year-over-year food prices will have increased between 8.5 to 9.5 percent in 2022. From a labor perspective, according to Deloitte Insights, wage growth in healthcare is 7%, foodservice 13.5% and hotels 15.9% just in 2022. These are industries that we compete with for our exceptional team members. Similar increases are expected in 2023. Energy cost—another key component of our operations—also saw a seismic increase. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that energy prices rose 41.6% over the last year, the largest 12-month increase since 1980. Regardless of these influences on our business, the actual, relative New Perspective rent increase for 2022 was actually 10.42%--not 18.75%. Excellent Comprehensive Care at New Perspective
I am very happy with the experience and thought the staff were friendly and attentive. It is a little expensive; however, I feel my loved one is well taken care of and looked after.
The communication with the staff is good overall, if there are any issues that arises with my loved one.

I would recommend you check out New Perspective for your loved ones. They were willing to work with us in getting my loved one into the community and assisted us in getting my loved one settled into the community.
Some of the activities available are bingo, music, crafts, shopping, restaurant visits, and more for the residents to choose from.
Housekeeping, the room, and changing of linens are included in the monthly fee. They are also checking my loved one's blood pressure and weight.
There is a basic meal available; however, there is an anytime menu that the residents can choose from. They do have specified meal times.
There are choices for the apartments that some include washer and dryers, and different layouts available.

Great place for Seniors

Very Impressive
After our tour we are super impressed with the facility and it's staff. The welcome from everyone, including residents, was amazing. The rooms are clean and spacious. The multiple activities that can be enjoyed are many and include live music, bible studies,, shopping, and special outings. They have a theater, library, and bistro to share time with others, including happy hour! They also have a barber/beautician, podiatrist, and therapists on sight. I am glad we found this new HOME for our father!

Completely Pleased & Happy
I have been an "Assisted Living" resident since January 2021, Having never lived in a facility, I had no idea what it would be like. From the beginning, I can only say, I feel like part of a family! After the first "mask" life eased and the dining room opened, it was an opportunity to appreciate everyone and everything. The Care Givers are so helpful. The staff work hard to keep things going smoothly. Our spiritual lives are important also with a variety of opportunity for both Catholics and Non-Denominations meetings. Change is tough - N.P. helped us make it as smooth as possible.
My grandmother has lived in the same area for 89 years. Moving across several states was not going to be without its struggles but New Perspectives was flexible and allowed us to set the space up a few days before Grandma would arrive. She walked into a new space but it was filled with all of her familiar belongings. The nursing and dining staff are personable and fun.
New Perspectives was the right place for us and for Grandma.

Scary and questionable place
Very heavy politics, it's "my way or the highway." My input was not important to them. The caregivers were good for the most part, the philosophy was they wouldn't involve the residents and put in her room and forget her except for meals. She had no way to call for help or assistance and she would yell out " help me" and then she would be told not to do that. There wasn't a clear, consistent plan to help and direct new residents to acclimate them. It was a memory care but it felt prison like and very institutional.

Not Worth the Money
Family member of a previous resident and we are not impressed. They have spent the last 6 months painting and without carpet in many areas. No major remodel. Hard to believe it could take so long to replace carpet and paint. Do not feel like the management staff is trained in geriatrics or shows any compassion.

Disappointed
My Mother was in the Memory Care area. Like all places there are employees that truly care and others where it's only a job. We have had both. Training on how to interact with dementia residents appeared to be lacking. The turnover was great in her area. My Mom would fall in her room and bruises appeared around her face, forehead and rarely would I be contacted by staff. Many times I was the one telling them that she must have fallen. I was told that If they don't see it, they don't document it. Mom had items taken from her room and sometimes they were misplaced in laundry. But other times, we never found them. I finally started taking pictures of my Mother's belongings and installed a camera. At times, I felt the director was abrupt and rude. When I asked about security, I was told that she couldn't be here 24/7. When Mom was dying and on Hospice, the RN never came to her room to check on her until she died. Fortunately, family and friends were with her.

New Perspective is the perfect place for my Father-in-Law. He said it was "Far better than anything I ever imagined".
The meals are great, the other residents and staff are so nice. He's as happy as he could be. I very much look forward to and enjoy any time I spend there. Making the decision for him to live here and actually moving him in was simple!!

I had found them online prior to receiving from APFM. I toured and the place is nice but over our current budget. There is also a $3,000 entry fee which seems high to me.
The place is clean and nice and has wonderful common areas.

No peace of mind here
Absolutely zero support for independent living residents. Staff admits that if a resident was very ill or worse, they would never know. RN said she was not allowed to go into a I.L. Residents apartment. Food is very Carb heavy so if your loved one is diabetic they’re in trouble.

This is a good community for my mom's care. The staff is good and caring. The menu is nice and she seems to like the variety. She does participate in the activities with the other residents. We would recommend this community for the nice values and care for other families.

One month's learning experience.
Their friendliness is outstanding. The price is very high for what services are provided. The nursing care program is not administered to what I expected. I had to discontinue their medical plan entirely as they were too inflexible to administer my father's right to use his VA benefits for pharmacy and were going to penalized him $10.00 per day for the VA pharmacy usage. I will admit that the administrative director has indicated that I may drop that plan. We shall see. The food is good, it has been an adjustment for my father to eat at the prescribed times, but he seems to be doing well for his first month there. The activities that are offered seem fine to me, my father doesn't partake because he is in dialysis for 2 days a week.
The best part of this facility is that it is only 3 miles from my home and I can be there rapidly.
