Excellent place to live for seniors
She absolutely loves it there~
All of the staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They are also very patient with the older people!
The location of the facility is great to where our family is, very convenient for us.

Exceptional Senior Independent Living Center
Staff is AMAZING!
It's an independent living so they must be able to take care of themselves. Many use scooters and canes, but they must be able to get around on own.
She loves the food, her room is so new and clean, activities are provided daily and keeps her busy.
It is super clean and the cleaning lady comes every other week to their rooms.
Value is beyond reasonable to everything that is offered and provided.
Lunch and dinner are provided by a wonderful chef in a clean, large dining area with also a bistro for grab and go items.
There is a weekly activity calendar provided for options with a bus to take to local restaurant and shops.

Friendly staff
The cleanliness of the community gets a 4 out of 5 for cleanliness but for my apartment that would get a 3 out of 5. I cannot comment on the activities because we did not participate. What we like the most about the community is the friendly staff and the friends we have made, and yes I would recommend it for those who are completely independent of minimal cleaning services.

Lockwood of Lyon review
Independent living only, no special care needed. When it comes to the meals and dining services there are only two meals a day and dinner is early - it is at 4:30. there are no activities in the evenings or weekends. Based on the experience I have had so far, I would recommend this community to other families.

Sad experience
Lockwood Of Lyon is by far the worst community I have ever lived in. Constant heating and cooling problems, staff is disrespectful to tenants, maintenance is horrible at best, staff will be untruthful about what tenants say, cigarette and pot smoking is constant, covid is just another day for them with zero communication to tenants and I will never be able to express enough how horrible this place is to live!

The cost was unbelievable lower than anywhere else in Brighton and surrounding areas. Also, it was brand new. So the cost and the newness is why I picked Lockwood. It's trying really hard to make it a great community and they are listening to our needs and making the changes necessary. The staff is totally great !!!

I really like Lockwood all the workers and residence are very nice helpful and outgoing. A lot of residents are wondering why they don't have more interaction for people . If they did there would be more interaction between residents in larger groups . They would be able to interact and meet one another more .They have bingo and one othe thing but they would like some type of entertainment . The apartments are very nice the residents and workers are awesome and I like that it is closer to things compared to the other places also .

A nice new community with growing pains.
Building is new and there have been many new building problems -- air conditioning not working in some areas, one elevator out of order for over a month, exterior doors not fitting and other issues. I am sure when they get everything settled things will improve -- we hope. Serving staff, maintenance and chef are great. Housekeeping staff are punctual, friendly and trying to please. They are having a difficult time staffing up so some services are not provided.

Beautiful Brand New Community
Lockwood of Lyon is a brand new community. The food is amazing & there are many opportunities to keep busy with several activities to attend. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a independent senior living community.

Needs work for a new place
The facility is nice but repairs are not done on equipment that is broken. I have not had air conditioning for 11.5 weeks because my hvac system in my area is not working. I cintinue to pay the full rent amount. This also means the air circulating fan in the bathroom is not working. Lockwoods answer was to move to another apartment. That is not an easy task for a senior. The main elevator has been out of service for over 3 weeks. My washer and dryer in unit does not work . People smoke cigarettes and marijuana in their units although it is suppose to be a no smoking facility. I have not tried the food but it smells good. There are also many activities.

New facility still working out the kinks. Poor upper management.
Facility is nice but building quality is less than expected, not all amenities as promised, questionable management (parent company). Area is safe and hopefully when they can find more help, the amenities will improve. We picked this community because of the, location, low income tax credit, brand new, and socialization.

No one there to help
I would not recommend this place. There is no one there to help the seniors if anything happens. It is very hard to get in. No one in the offices!!!! Very unsafe!! My father was able to move in and he needs assistance
