I came here from "[removed]" after back surgery. I had to go to a "fine nursing home and rehab center"; because [removed] would not to rehab after they made me lay in the bed over the weekend. I will never go to [removed] again! Any way, I was fortunate enough to have chosen Legend

Legend Oaks
I was a rehab patient at Legend Oaks in [date removed]. Most of the staff were incompetent, except for their wound care Nurse. You were made to wear diapers at night because they didn’t want help anyone to use the restroom. I watch someone die in the 2 rooms across the hall every 4-5 days and the rooms were and a new patient within hours. They would dress patients in the AM and sit them in a wheelchair in the hallway all day till bedtime. They did not give me my proper meds and game meds that I didn’t take. My RN friend came in one afternoon to bidit me and I was so out of it that she called my youngest daughter and told her that if she wanted to see me alive the next day, she better get me out of there today!! My daughter called an ambulance and they took me to Memorial City Hermann Memorial where my oldest daughter met me. I was there for a week trying to get all my organs to function properly again. They almost killed me there!! I now refer to them as The House of Death!!!

Concerned
My Dad was there for rehab and I was very disappointed in the care !! They are very understaffed and waiting on them to come answer a call light was an endless wait and by the time they did get there it was to late ! The aides are very over worked while the nurses sit at the nurse station and will not help them!! Food was ok absolutely nothing to do on the weekends and no staff ! Frankly I’m concerned that the management just doesn’t care or not engaged with the day to day operations ! The care was weak and the staff was lazy and rude ! My dads room wasn’t cleaned to my knowledge other then wiping off sink but the floors are filthy ! It’s a beautiful community but looks can be deceiving and that is the experience we had ! Research before putting your family member here!

Disappointed
As far as nursing homes go, I think Legend Oaks is probably a little better than most in certain areas. My main complaint with Legend Oaks is that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. One nurse will tell you something, but when you ask another nurse, they know nothing about it. Their answer is always "well, it's not in the computer". Very frustrating. It makes them look like they don't know what they are doing. Also, you can forget about ever getting a call back from anyone in the business office, no matter how many calls you make. Terrible Service.

I will never go to [removed] again! Any way, I was fortunate enough to have chosen Legends and they accepted me. When I got to Legends, they provided excellent care and rehab. The food was much better than most institutional facilities. Staff was wonderful. If I am ever in a need of a nursing facility, I will be a returning patient.

Unhappy with care
They are so understaffed and don't reply to the call button for hours and didn't assist my father in a simple task of brushing his teeth and washing his body no shower for 1 week he had a stroke and was paralyzed on his left side so he needs assistance in everything. The therapist are doing a great job but they have other patients to attend to and can't be there like the technician and nurses should, I will give them some time but right noe it doesn't look good.

WARNING ?
Please do not take your loved one here! Appearances are very deceiving. There are only a handful of competent, caring staff. The management team specifically [name removed]and [name removed] were not honest or professional and are more interested in covering themselves than doing their professional best for your loved one and others. This facility should be shut down reorganized and tested competent management and lower level staff put in place. WARNING ?

We were very happy with the care her for my mom. The staff was very helpful to us with the care with my mom. they were able to accommodate all of us overnight. We liked that they did go out of there way to help us. We would recommend this care. They go out of their way tor help. We would highly recommend the care and comfort of this community for other families.
