A calm and sweet place for hospice patients
This facility was extremely accommodating for our family - many ways: 1) We called them looking urgently for a room, as the hospital was insistent that Dad be moved right away. This was in the middle of Covid-19 (Oct 2020) and the hospital needed the beds. Knights' worked quickly to transition the room from another patient, and was able to get my dad, age 94, physically moved in same day as we had called them. They ordered a special bed for Dad and it arrived before Dad's ambulance arrived. We were in a jam that day and being pushed - Knights' said they'd be ready later in the day, and they were. 2) Dad was still lucid at 94 and knew that his situation was serious. None of us realized he was so close to the end of life, but we knew he was getting confused and that was causing him fear. Because of Covid, we were limited to the amount of time we could spend with him, where we could see him, etc. so we were often not there when he was confused and alarmed in the hospital and previous skilled nursing unit. Knights' intake nurse, nurse practitioner and owners actually listened to our concerns that he was confused and afraid - new traits for him - so they were careful to explain everything to him in lay terms, acknowledging that he was a smart man - former CPA - transitioning into a less lucid state and aware of his confusion. Losing his thinking capacity was terribly scary for him. They did a sweet job of helping him understand and relax. 3) When, after two days, Dad was still not orienting well, we asked if we could hire one of the sweet night nurses to stay with him for 8 hours one day, to show him where his clothing was, and to reposition his things like he wanted, etc. - things we would have done if we'd be able to come in. But all senior facilities like this were closed to families at the time - a really tough situation for adult children who have been his caretakers for years. His sweet nurse hung his clock on the wall where he wanted it and a big calendar so he could see what day it was. She showed him how to use the remote at least 10 times. She offered to tour him through the rest of the facility, but he felt too weak to ever leave his bed except for showers. What she did was really slow-motion hand-holding, but it helped calm Dad and he was less agitated the last half of the week, and as it turned out, the last few days of his life. I am forever indebted to her sweet patience in helping settle Dad down and letting him talk to her. He passed away peacefully on the 8th day he was in the Knights' Facility, never uncomfortable, always fed, bathed, and tended well. 4) Because of Covid, we were not allowed to come into the facility after our initial tour. Dad was given a back bedroom, with a nice big window. The staff opened the shades all the way, opened the glass window as open as it would go, and took off the screen. They pushed his bed as close to the window as possible, where the 5 of us adult kids and all the grandkids were able to reach inside, hold his hand, straighten his glasses, read his menu to him, find a different channel, etc. It was so odd having to visit with him through the window, but Knights' did all they could to accommodate us. Dad had a cell phone and the staff helped him when he needed it, especially in the last 2-3 days when he was deteriorating so rapidly. He was able to talk to us at any time, and were allowed to be in the backyard at the window as much as we liked. Dad's meals were always tasty and he generally ate every bite. If he had a special request, they tried to accommodate it within a day or two. They allowed us to bring food to him, as well. He had a bell to ring if he needed something when the nurses were out of his room (door always open so he could see people), and they answered within seconds of when he rang. He told me numerous times that his bed was comfortable and that the staff was very nice. Our experience at Knights' was brief - just 8 intense days - but very nice for end of life. His window overlooked a pretty backyard with a nice covered deck. Had he ever felt well enough, we could have picnicked on the deck. His room was clean, orderly, and as bright and cheery as he would let us make it. The owners and staff at Knights' were kind, accommodating people, who answered our questions and concerns quickly, and were true to their word. I am grateful we found them for the last week of Dad's life. I feel confident he was comfortable and less stressed than he had been for weeks and weeks. I am grateful to the Knights' team and thank them again for helping us transition Dad home.

Spanish Oaks
My Mother is now at Spanish Oaks which is their other home located in Pflugerville owned by [name removed] & [name removed]. We are very pleased with this home and the care that Mom is receiving. She has adjusted very well and the staff is all very caring as well as the owners, and the Hospice nurses. The only complaint that I have is that they tend to mix up my Moms clothes with the other residents when they take them to get washed and I find a lot of clothes in her dresser that do not belong to her. Thank you for all you do for our Mother [name removed] and [name removed] and All the staff...!

Lack of care on residents last days of life,
I had a ex cleint named [name removed] there and I thought I put her into a great place until the last days of her life I was on her Emergency contact list to be told if anything per family request. They did not contact us until she passed away. Then we asked for time to go through her stuff and she died on Saturday by Sunday night they had gotten rid of her stuff. Went in on Monday morning and was told some of her stuff was in a box with a lot of stuff broken . Talked to the nurse found out they already had someone coming in that same day . Went back that night and found out that she had been declining for a week nobody notified me or the family. Also was told that them throwing clients stuff away after death is there protocol .. These people that are owners claim to be Christian's are really after the money. They do not have any concerns for the family and friends needs. I am really upset ???? with the way they handle [name removed] last days of life. When I got there after learning of her passing their hospice nurse was leaving. I was there a few hours until they came and pick up the body which the hospice nurse should been there until the body is picked up. So I really wouldn't give them any recommendations for how they treat their residents. On their last days .

Outstanding Care Home
It has been an outstanding experience for my mother with her move to this care home. My father, brother, and myself is very pleased with all they have done for us. This is at nice, small home. When we come to visit everything is always very clean. We know she is great hands. This is a care home I would recommend, it has been an outstanding experience for my family.

Thank God for Knight's Assisted Living
My sister and I feel blessed that in January 2013, Hope [Removed] came into our lives. My mother, who passed away on February 1, 2017 suffered from dementia and was declining. We were no longer able to care for her as she needed ( round the clock care). We were referred to Knights Assisted Living in Pflugerville Tx. As soon as I visited the home ( after visiting several) I knew this is where my mom belonged. The many times I visited I was always pleased with decision. The home was calm and very clean. I was always amazed at how clean and well kept both the home and my mom were. It is not easy to put some one you love in this type of facility. It can cause guilt and doubt, but it continued to be the right decision. As my mother declined more and more they continued to give her all the care she needed. Every time I left the Care home I thanked god that we had found Knights Assisted Living.

Hope & Philip seem to have a great place. 2:1 ratio, very beautiful home, comfortable settings, attentive staff. The reason we didn't choose Knight's had to do with our family member's mental stability and not Knight's.

Hope and her staff took such amazing care of my grandmother. We tried a few other places before we found Knight's Assisted Living and I must say we found them just in time to make a positive difference for my grandmother and her quality of life. She was treated like family as were we when we visited. Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of her and being there until the end. Words can not describe how wonderful this place is.

Dementia assisted living in a family neighborhood.
Senior care facility running in a residential neighborhood in violation of home owners association rules. Residents knock on neighbors doors. It is extremely frustrating having a facility operate in a neighborhood that is single family residences. A licensed dementia assisted living has no place in a neighborhood such as this. Commercial homes like this need to go elsewhere.

Great place
The facility is so serene and inviting. The atmosphere seems to keep the residents calm. Drop-in visits are always welcome, and sometimes we're greeted by the smell of cookies baking! The premises are always spotless. We have the highest regard the owner, who always has time for questions and a visit. We are so pleased to have found such a beautiful place for our 94 year-old aunt.

What a Relief!
My Mother has only been at Knight's a short time, but the owner has been so willing to keep me informed of her condition, has sent pictures and has overall allowed me to catch my breath and feel comfortable that she is in a good, clean and loving environment. I was so fortunate to find this place through your website, since I had previously been told that personal care homes would not be able to provide the level of care that my Mother needed. I am so very grateful for this place and this staff!

I would not recommend them to anyone.
I would not recommend them to anyone. They lied to me about the fact that where my mother was, wasn't a registered and licensed home and they didn't inform me of that. I went to the department of aging services, they had a difficult time even finding the home. They have two facilities and the one that my mother was in was on Mallard Pond and that one is not licensed, they were about to move when I interviewed them before moving her in, she told me that they were moving but didn't let me know that the location they were putting her in was not licensed. When I first visited they were on Snowflake Dr., she moved in at the same time they moved into the new house. I didn't realize they had two facilities until later when a worker mentioned working at the other location. Hope is who runs the day to day operations but they are all under her father’s name. My was suffering from dementia, Hope knows this, and my mom left, when my mom left they had no locks or alarms on the doors at that point. She deliberately walked out because she was convinced that they were holding her against her will, she went and sought someone out to help her. She did have issues with one of the staff but I never had a reason to believe that was true. They did not supervise her very well, they didn't do what they should have done with the circumstances of my mom. She tried to take her life once before moving in, which they knew about, and twice after she was there. After the first time it happened at the community they assured me that they took the sharp objects away from her reach but days later she got a knife out of the kitchen and made a second attempt. They didn't watch her well enough and I don't think that they followed the appropriate procedure the first time it happened. They seemed very nice, but they did not supervise her well. Things looked fine to me. She loved the woman who ran the place it was the staff she had issues with. I met the staff and they were all very nice and solicitous. There was only ever one caregiver on site at a time when I was there, at least that I noticed. And they always seemed to be in another room tending to another resident who I believe was dying. They knew that she was still mobile enough to get around. A Place For Mom was awesome we could not have made it through this ordeal without Mary Lontkowski, we hit the internet jackpot when we found them. I felt like I couldn't have done it without her, it was a marvelous service for us. When my mom made the last attempt on her life, when she was still in the hospital I spoke with Hope and I asked her would they allow her to comeback, and her answer was if we have a plan in place, and she was going to require us to get a 24 care service, which we felt we were already paying for. The food seemed good. They seemed to treat her nice. They said they had activities going on, but my mom said they didn't no matter what time of day I was there, I never saw anything going on. I know they got her to do a puzzle once because they sent me a picture. I even asked them at one point, if they do activities and they said oh yeah we do but I never saw any evidence of activities.

Very Good Experience for Mom
My mom is no longer there with them but it has nothing to do with their services. We just ran into some financial issues waiting for her veteran's benefit to kick in. I cannot say enough nice things about the staff and the facility there. I don't know of any ways they could improve. It was a very good experience for my mom. I want them to know they got very high marks.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
