My 99 year old mom recently moved into the sheltered care there. The staff are incredibly kind, knowledgeable and sensitive to residents and their families. It isn't as fancy as some of the more expensive places but it is the real deal! I got such a hard sell at some of the other facilities we looked at that I started to get really put off by it. Jennings' staff are true professionals and they are there for the residents in a sincere way. We decorated my mom's room with her and she loves it. The maintenance people hung a beautiful light for my mom and got everything hooked up that she needed. The laundry lady (I will call her the Laundress:) does an beautiful job with my mom's clothing. It is a wonderful feeling to know she is there surrounded by such competent and kind people. Residents are encouraged to involve themselves in our community but have the freedom to determine their level of independence and select their desired supportive services in an effort to preserve their dignity and independence.</p> <p>Aurora is a dynamic and explorable city just 35 miles from Chicago. After appearing in the 1992 hit comedy Wayne’s World, the city has since become a fairly popular filming destination, with additional appearances in movies such as Let’s Get Harry and Paul Sorvino’s Precious Mettle. For more entertainment near our assisted living community, you can find Paramount Theatre, Phillips Park Zoo, Riveredge Park, shopping malls, museums, food truck festivals, the Aurora Farmers Market, and so much more. With all there is to discover and explore, a day spent in Aurora is certainly not a day wasted.</p> <h3>Community Amenities and Services</h3> <p>Our friendly staff kindly offers residents housekeeping, laundry, and beautician services, as well as restaurant-style meals with accommodations for gluten-free, no sugar, vegetarian, vegan, or low/no sodium special diets. We also proudly offer residents memory, diabetic, ambulatory, and incontinence care, along with physical, speech, and occupational therapy and podiatry. Additional services include medication management and on-site hospice.</p> <p>Complete with comfortable, tidy, and accessible common areas, our community offers residents the space they need to stretch out and socialize, with options to cozy up by the central fireplace, lounge in our outdoor patio area, or enjoy a game of billiards in the lounge. For further enjoyment, residents are encouraged to attend any of our wellness, educational, religious, and social activities and programs, including community yoga, exciting day trips, or our quilting and sewing club.</p> <h3>Living Arrangements</h3> <p>Our spacious, air-conditioned housing options include high-speed internet and satellite TV. We have a number of room accommodations to fit any lifestyle, with an option of single- and two-bedroom units with shared and private bathrooms that feature wheelchair accessible showers.
